This was posted last night on rag cafe on the Premier League Game Week 30 thread.

"Watched the last 20 minutes of that and city made about 250 passes .... 235 of them were absolutely pointless. Just back and forth between two players a load of times. It's like they are told not to even take a first touch."

They just don't understand do they? I am not a football coach but even I know that the opponent cannot score a goal without the ball. Why can't the rags understand this?

The other reason for passing the ball like this is to move the opponent to create space to be exploited with an opportunity to score. I see why the rags would not understand this though as their tactic is simply route one which exploits existing space.

Are the rags just being thick. Do they not really understand or are they just bitter ?

"God I hate the way city one touch pass it back and forth between two players rooted on the spot, separated by about 2 meters. I've only ever seen it from a pep team, are they trying to jack up the passing statistics? It's beyond pointless."

The rags don't understand football !

Not like the onus is on the opponents to even try and get the ball back, or anything!!!

Looking forward to seeing the huge "Mind the Gap" banner in the Sevilla end tonight, courtesy of those pesky blinders from Brooklands & Baguley.

If our Spanish friends manage to get it in, it will be comedy gold.

?? Haha what's thid

There were a few Sevilla fans who met one of the Brooklands & Baguely lads in town and they were invited to Stoke on their coach, for a nobble, even travelled without tickets and all got decked out in City gear. They have been subsequently issued with the banner and have sworn to get it into the Swamp and display it loud & proud!

Is there no end to how bitter Utd fans have become....it's actually getting quite ridiculous. They are now actually complaining about fans from other countries praising Pep and City's football and how much they hate it.

Fully understandable from fans who support the United philosophy that seems to be to forget the ball and just get on with the game.

It's as bad as bus parking, apparently.

'When deployed like that, its exactly the same thing as parking the bus. You're essentially being an ass to the other team and it doesn't matter if you say "hey come try get the ball so you can score, you cant huh suckah" or "hey sucker, keep passing the ball around but you wont score". It's the same thing. Only the fans of the winning team truly can enjoy such an approach. Unless of course you are an academic or have some deep tactical appreciation beyond a game of football'
