Mourinho speaks the unpalatable truth that the British media do not want to hear. Firstly, the rags are not a European Great like Real Madrid. Their sporadic success was mostly down to luck. Secondly, they are now an inferior club to City and have been for sometime.

This all day.

I have never watched a United team in my life and thought man-for-man, this is one of the best teams in Europe. They were always the lucky, plucky underdogs with a miracle worker for a manager.

The reality is that for each of the teams mentioned they have a better CL record than the rags and the countries in question don't have a sycophantic media continuously pushing one team as being beyond reproach. Internally, it gives the impression that the rags and the dippers are the only choices, outside the UK it’s City that they want to watch.
