yeah but its the scouser.....always the victims never the responsibility .......hate that as its the epitome of everything that is wrong int he world.....utd are just rivals in football...the average true utd fan from Manchester is probably an alright person.....scousers just in general aren't...no matter where you are in the world
you need to give your head a wobble.

I, amongst many older blues hated that banner more than anything. It was always there and every match they were on tv, which was often, the cameras always panned in on it. I actually don't remember when it first appeared but it seemed like it was always there, which for most of their successful period it was. More than anything it evoked real hatred for them that went beyond the normal local rivalry you get in most cities. It was below the belt and breathtakingly arrogant. For me it crossed the line and the fact the hierarchy at that club allowed it's presence made me detest them all the more.

That is why for all his faults which have been revealed since he left Mancini will always be a hero to many. He hated that banner too and said he would tear it down and he did.

I would actually have that banner or a picture of it as part of our history. Just before every derby match I would show the players it and explain the story behind it. Team talk done.
I started off hating that banner but then I realised that it was, unwittingly, a compliment to us and a slur on them. It defined the basis of their support, basically saying ‘we’re a bunch of glory-hunters who are fans of this club mostly because of what they’ve won’. Whereas we, on the other hand, were fans in the truest sense of the word.

And it showed that the Pisscan and the club didn't have the class, integrity or humility , or were happier to just keep taking the money from those gloryhunters , to instruct them to remove it.

Arrogance at its worst imo.

There is that perspective but it made me hate them even more. I used to like our " 34 years and we're still here!" chant of defiance but I like that we don't have to sing it anymore even more.

It's worse than that.

There were two banners. The original one (which had three figures - 029 years) was taken home by the FCUM splitters. The rags' top banner man, who I believe is the wankstain in our Blue Moon Rising film, got money from the club to replace it.

The club didn't just allow it as a permanent fixture, they PAID for it.

This is why they always have been, and always will be, SCUM.

Who's the guy on the left?

Not sure, but the guy on the right is....

I didn't realise that, and it removes all doubt that the club itself is guilty of such blatant arrogance and deserving of total contempt.

I have always believed that Ferguson being the twat that he is, fully encouraged the gloryhunters and their bluster as it endorsed and advertised his achievements.

A truly shameless establishment, who lest we forget took every possible advantage from a terrible tragedy, to raise their profile and build themselves into what they are today.

you need to give your head a wobble.

why?

I know plenty of utd fans and outside of their allegiances to Utd and football conversations in general they are decent people. Plenty of them admit they have been very poor this year and are surprised how far up the table they are and they are worried about how it will go in the next few years as well.

I agree, however,as you say,add football to the mix and they suddenly become the most vile, obnoxious and arrogant of individuals.

Similar to road rage gobshites. Lovely in real life, stick them behind a steering wheel and the become the devil incarnate. Similarly, once that lovely young chap from number 84 crosses the threshold into the Meccano Set, he becomes a "massive" wanker.

Or you could see it as. They are total wankers, but manage to control their true outlook, for the most part ;-)

No football for a fortnight, but some brilliant entertainment.

Conte facing the sack for throwing his Chelsea players under a bus at a recent press conference.

Mourinho tried to follow suit yesterday, but unfortunately the bus was parked at the time.

I know plenty of man utd fans from Manchester (including my brother) who looked down on city supporters during the fergie years, who did not even have the decency to be embarrassed by the vile that came from their manager's mouth and who glorified in the downturn in our fortunes. Say what you like about "outside their allegiances to Utd", within the sphere of their footballing universes they are very dislikeable.

Very poor record for club pretending to be face of english football. I am confident that starting with this year we will represent england in semifinals against elite and will establish ourselves as face of english football.

How very true . Humility is not a virtue that exists within the majority of them .

Paddy Barclay: "I can absolutely promise you that nothing will have made Pep's heart sink - than the news that Mourinho coming to #mufc."

Paddy Barclay: "Honestly, Guardiola must have felt like ripping up his contract when that happened." #mufc

Care to give us any more of your insights Paddy?
