United (H) Post Match Thread

We did 'boss' the first half. They had one touch in our penalty area. We still have a very soft centre when teams go for it and our best players have gone missing at the most important time of the season. The team is done this season, they look flat and jaded and it's a good job we have such a big gap.

But that loss was down to one incompetent (at best) man and he doesn't 'play' for either City or United.

You've hit the nail on head, we have a very soft centre and rely far to much on Fern. I know Pep likes industries, intelligent ball players, but had we been able to bring on a Makalele type player at half time it would've given us a bit of steel. His footballing philosophy is second to none, but at Barca he had Messi and at Bayern it was a one horse race.

He just doesn't seem to get our fan base does he? Yes he is probably a great manager but we have a fan base that needs to beat the rags and he doesn't get it. Like the season he played a weakened team against them in a cup match. I'm not going to say he isn't good but he needs to look at our history, we are not all thinking that the be all and end all is to win in Europe, yes we do want to win but beating the rags is just as important so put your best side out, after all the ones sitting on the bench that he eventually brought on, could have got us a great lead and then he could close it down, take them off and rest them for Tuesday> Just my humble opinion.

Maybe the owners have a big say in determining his targets ?

I agree that our fans may not see the CL as a priority and beating the Rags is always important to us , but if the Sheikh sees the CL as the holy grail, Pep can't tell him to forget it.

We are all disappointed at the results against the Dippers and rags but we will win the PL and could possibly get out of jail on Tuesday .

Biggest concern is how we just collapse under a bit of pressure, not even like United were bombarding us or even playing well but they had a period of play in which they have 4 shots and score 3 goals. Need to learn to batten down the hatches or this will happen often, especially in Champions league.

We didn’t collapse nobody picked up Pogba’s run twice and a set piece. When you only have one out and defensive midfielder it’s hard to pick up runners especially Pogba whose been shite but for do’s he was good second half.

Well like him, you need to get a sense of humour! I'm pissing around you stupid sod......I thought the Lukaku and Lingard references were too obvious, but maybe some are still hurting too much. As for getting beaten by the better team - surely to fuck you knew that was a piss take???

Penalty and red card, not to give the penalty was shocking, the red not so much

I didnt think it was a pen. I will get my tin hat. Some other decisions were shocking, including the rugby tackle on Sterling, but honestly wouldnt have given that. Well I would but....

No I didnt. Maybe not in the mood for humour. :)

As difficult as it is right now there were some real positives from the game today.

For 30 minutes the football in the first half was breathtaking and doubt anyone other side in country, including the much vaunted pool team, could play with such verve, energy and have the technical skills to pass the football at such lightning speed.

Atmosphere was fantastic. Sat in SSL3 it was electric and much better than Anfield on Wednesday. Struggling to remember a first half of football I have enjoyed more and as an occasion it lived up to the billing. So as depressing as it was I will treasure the memories of that first half
