United (H) Post Match Thread

We were absolute gods of football for 95% of the season.... we let ourselves down at the crucial point in terms of the CL and smashing records in the PL...

St least we return to type.. “typical city”... and for that I’m proud

Just watched the game on motd and although he probably should have scored on the first chance Sterling gets a nudge and the ball bobbled slightly. Unlucky with the one off the post but he didn't know much about it.

Atkinson is a cheat pure and simple. It was an horrendous leg breaking challenge .out of control, a sending off and a penalty.

Our defending was atrocious. For the second goal Pogba just trots with nobody picking him up at all. Sunday league defending.

Still hard to believe we actually lost that game, a freak result really.

Yep. Was walking out and thinking what the fuck just happened.

By playing a striker who mightve put them chances away ?

Said striker might not of even had those chances, when sterling moved inside our front 3 caused them loads of problems. Saying if aguero was in those positions he would have scored is a false argument. We played very well first half and were two up you can’t criticise that if you’re being fair.

Not going to watch it and put myself through it again but what did the panel have to say about the Young challenge on Aguero?
They saw it clear as day - as did Guy M. Ban surely coming up for Young if Atkinson has the balls to accept his colossal error.

We are short still yes. Otamendi showing recently that he can easily be lured in and beaten. A lack of balance at full back and a lack of goal scoring through having Aguero and a young talent of the future as only strikers. But at 2-0 up we should be winning the game. We dropped off and got picked off easily.

Simon Mullock at the Mirror is reporting that Pep will sign just a 1 year extension.

I thought many Manchester United players went down too easily for my liking, It's the sort of thing people complain about the CL a lot, but it's happing a lot in the premier league now,

Rags rags rags. You think you've just cost us the league, please. Look at you all posting your shite. Let me guess, you think you are going to win the league?
Ha ha ha.
I'm glad it's not been won tonight as you're filthy fuckin name won't have to be associated with us being champions.
Mind the gap, congrats on winning your cup final which used to be ours.

I can mate. Peps team selection didnt reflect the fans desire today

Agree.

I think losing to Liverpool is the bigger hurt.

If you said at the start of the season Liverpool of all the teams in the Cl would knock us out I would have laughed.

To go out to Monaco and Liverpool in consecutive seasons is a huge downside in regards to our CL quest.

It’s hardly Barca, Bayern or Madrid.

I'd flip that around to explain why today is the bigger hurt.

We can still turn it around against Liverpool but then go out in the next round. We'd have to beat two elite clubs and win three matches of football to win the UCL. If it happens, wonderful, if not there's always next year.

But to seal the league title against that lot will 99% never be possible again. You need some incredible turn of fate for the circumstance to arise. It happened today and we blew it.

We seem to play Utd a lot in April these days so you never know,

I can see where you are coming from mate.

I just think looking at our team and manager, only Barca, Bayern and Madrid should be putting us out.

Not a team nearly 20 points behind us in the league, regardless of how good that front three is.

Not saying the very top strikers would have scored those two gilt edged chances that fell to Raheem (who has come on leaps and bounds) but the Agueros, De Bruynes, Kanes and Lewandowskis when in space strike a vicious shot on target. It's either a great save or it goes in.

Sickening watching Ota's shot going in - only to see Raheem deflect it onto the post.

I wanted to win the league ... AGAINST UNITED. Not sure what part fellow bluesdont get
What do you want him to do? We have the Champions League game against LIverpool on Tuesday. We have to prioritise. If the title depended on winning today you would have seen a stronger side. As it was we should have absolutely smashed Uty today. We didn't because we missed our chances.

Sterling deserves great credit for his approach play and for making the little sharp runs but his finishing was appalling. Why are you blaming Pep?

We are miles ahead of all the other Premiership clubs because of Pep. he really did not have much choice today because we have to play the strongest possible side vs Liverpool.
