United (H) Post Match Thread

Pep took a calculated risk which went tits up, but one which we'll only know if it was worth it after 9.30pm on Tuesday

Gone are the days where our season was defined by winning one of the derbies. How many times have we sat there gloating at a derby win, when ManUre went on to win titles & cups?

Our club is much, much more than being about a local spat with the closest club to us geographically. This destiny of this season is still very much in our own hands.

If it were in our hands I'd have no problem and would rest assured that our quality, one way or the other, would deliver, but we are also in the hands of the officials who, over the last two games have been poor to bent!

Sums up yesterday , Champions at Half time ,Chumps at full time

Had a right good session and proper laugh with some good blues at home but still can’t get over peps lack of empathy with the fans.

He’d have never rested his top players (messi etc at Barca’s peak) in el Classico regardless of who he had to play with some forlorn hope in the week. However he thought he could with us. That irritates me. He knew Barca fans would not accept it but didn’t give a shit what we think. Just doesn’t sir right with me

Personally, I believe we fucked it. We bring off our best players on the 60’, we shouldn’t be bringing them on with 20’ to go to chase against one of the best defensive units in the league.

I think we’ll win the league on the 6th May.

It’s gone from a great season to a good season.

This was a bit special

I think your right with the Spanish analogy.
Pep didnt seem to care how much this win meant to City fans.
I was extremely pissed of that KDB and Kun and Walker were on the bench before kick off, United mustve thought it was their lucky day when they saw the team sheet. like no No 9

Had he reffed according to what is down in black and white in the Laws of the Game we would have had at least one pen and MANUre would have been down to ten for some part of the second half. Atkinson reffed that game in the most bizarre manner. Three things cost us yesterday: poor finishing, comical defending and the shit end of decisions from officials that were palpably incorrect.
Ohh I agree with you mate, I was replying to the previous poster who said the ref (and only the reffing) cost us the game.

We’re against it mate. Today was the chance to get everyone on a high. I don’t know why we didn’t take it.
We didn't take it, we had it at our feet, 2 nil up with glorious chances missed, we could have rubbed their noses in it before half time but we let them have a sniff and golly that Pogba looked like the player that we wanted to sign and by fuck they took the game away from us but we will still win the league and let's give those scouse twats a fright next Tuesday.

At half time NBC in the u.s asked "are ManU being humiliated?" They answered yes. The rags hadn't had a shot on goal. Even when they started strong at the start of the second half it could have been 3-0 and all over if Gundogan's shot had been a foot the other way. I thought today was going to be a memory that I'd take with me to the end, so it's a sad night. Got to get over it.

No side is on top of its game all season and form can dip even within a game , yesterday was the typical two halves affair and again defended very poorly for all three of their goals.

Again the ref was poor but we had enough of the game and enough of the play at our end and the chances to win this game easily and that is the consolation albeit a small one to take out the game.

We were not outplayed , we lapsed in concentration and were made to pay a lot like last year in a number of games.

Twenty minute lapses are costing us games now and we can't afford to do that against any opposition least of all our nearest rivals.

I was never fussed as to how we end up first but we still need two wins mathematically or 6 points from 6 games and the sooner we get them the better obviously assuming Manure win all their remaining games and that is by no means a given and we have earned the right to be in the drivers seat but we still have to finish the job.

That's what I was most annoyed with. He said before the game he would be resting players after the Liverpool game, but to me, that's just a nonsense.

We had the chance today of grabbing the title against our most detested rivals, and if Aguero had been playing, we could have been 5 or 6 goals up by half time.

That would have been heaven for us, but it didn't happen, and I was saying all through the game he didn't give a shit about todays result.

Well, I'm sorry, but no City fan on this earth would have played that team today given what was at steak. He should have played our strongest eleven from the start, and then brought on the second choice players.

As you say, he doesn't understand us, of what we have had to endure from that lot over the years. We couldn't even win the FA Cup without them taking the piss!

We'll win the league, but today we had to suffer the same old from that lot and it could have been so much different and better.

Followed City all my life, went to Newcastle 68, I've had enough of corrupt modern football, even though I'm in Oz I never miss a game, it takes over my life,I'm finished it is no longer the club I fell in love with all those years ago, run by Spaniards and Arabs that either don't care how we feel about United or don't get it, money has destroyed the game, and corrupted it, I've known that for years, all you internet warriors will tell me to fuck off anyway, done a lot of thinking before I wrote this, just need to get on with my life, I'm 64 but modern football wont be part of it.
City my City will always be but in my memories C ya CTID closing my Bluemoon account.

Damn.

Personally I wouldn’t say it’s run by “Spaniards and Arabs”.

I think it’s more a case of “McKinsey types” that are too enamoured with spreadsheets and statistical analysis.

One thing is clear to me - we need Laporte and Stones to develop as the CB pairing Pep intends them to be....quickly. Vinny and Ota, god bless them, are not capable in the big matches anymore. They've been skinned the last two matches and at some point we'll need Stones and Laporte to be what we've paid so much money for them to be. We'll win the league this season without them, but next season it will be crucial that they develop.
