There's genuinely no point in criticizing Yaya at this point. He won't play anymore European games this season and he'll only feature in the league once it's wrapped up, maybe even only the last home game. He's a goner in the summer, at this point he's only getting minutes out of respect for what he's done for the club.

He's a legend for us nonetheless.

He's obviously completely done and shouldn't still be here other than for sentimental reasons. His legs have gone and the lack of game time has probably contributed to his inability to find a quick forward pass. Still ran rings around Zinchenko on their second goal mind, so it's not as if he's not trying. Just shouldn't be here any more and it's becoming a bit of a sad end to his career here, as he's clearly just hanging around to pad out his trophy cabinet

and his bank balance

Same standard of performance and can’t be arsed attitude that’s cost us the last 3/4 seasons really, if you take away a few months when he came back into the team last season when he actually looked like he wanted to play.

I don't think he was great, but the narrative here is just assinine. He ran more times defensively in this game than he often did at his peak 4 years ago. I mean even for their second goal, he was at fucking Right back and he got there by running from the middle.

Yes he ( and Zee and Foden and Gundogan) all spent way too much time leisurely passing it around and backwards with few ideas going forward.

But he was neither lazy not disinterested. That narrative is just silly.

You are right. He was not lazy, he was at full tilt. That is the sad truth. He tried, but could not effect the game.

For the first goal, he ball watches and lost the runner, for the second he got into a good defensive position then let the fellah run off him, when he could of kept goal side. I am not saying he was culpable for either goal, but a true, fit defensive midfielder would have done much better.

3 years too late, hope he gets a great reception on his farewell appearance .

200k per week for a bit of training each day and only question for him is he on the bench without being sent in or not even making the squad on a matchday.

He is having the time of his life imo.
