Liverpool thread 2017/18

The Liverpool fans seem to mistake football with war. Their aggressiveness and borderline (sometimes across) violent behaviour is extremely unappealing to me. The booing every time their opponents have the ball is a complete lack of respect for the other team for me. If City fans were the same I would be deeply ashamed.

The attack on our bus was hooliganism. The club encouraged it and the police facilitated it.
No wonder the Roma ultras were tooled up last night.

Yes. The pictures about the City coach went global so the Roma fans - rightly or wrongly- acted accordingly.

No criticism or comments about dipper fans climbing on police vans with flares & bottles.

It was a scouser with a hammer not the other way around - why is nobody in the media reporting this as a fact. Why have no Liverpool fans been arrested - why are they yet again allowed to get away with acts of violence. Is everyone too afraid to call it as it is after the events at Hillsborough?
Because the authorities and the media are s**t scared of saying anything for fear of being called disrespectful towards the eternal victims.

The visual and written media will never report any detrimental about Scum fc or their fans as they don't want to be barred from Scummyside. Cant see why because being barred from Scummyside would be a blessing.

To be honest Italian fans are at it all the time anyway. I doubt the attack on our coach made much difference.

Its a shame that a fan whom was in all likelihood innocent has been seriously hurt. However, a figure of speech springs to mind. You often get what you give in this world and maybe the fans of Liverpool FC should think twice about playing hooligans, lest they ever run into any real ones. We played home and away against Rome without this trouble.

Nah, there's always scuffles but that was preplanned by the Roma fans, they only pull something like that every couple of months. Definitely motivated by the scousers making a target of themselves.

I think people need to distinguish scouce and LFC, fact is that most LFC fans don't come from Liverpool, Everton fans are mainly scouce and they are a different breed, LFC is a cult rather than a football club, and those that follow display cult like behaviour

Could well be more to do with the Italians hatred of Liverpool.

Not sure how those blokes were charged with attempted murder unless they admitted to that. I would have thought it would be more like manslaughter if he dies.

Always the innocent ones (assuming he was) who get caught up in this kind of crap. If people want a ruck they should find like minded people but it rarely works that way. The Russians and poles seem to have it right with their meet ups in a field.

City's coach gets bombarded by a crowd of 1000+ and the BBC are not too bothered and no calls for action to be taken. A few mealy mouthed offerings from Klippity and that was it. 80 Roma fans attack a few Dippers and there's outrage!

To be fair, there's a man fighting for his life which makes it a bit different.

Their attack on our bus was unacceptable, but some people mentioning karma, always the victims etc. is a bit inappropriate when someone is in a critical condition in hospital imo.

Don't think the Roma Ultras hate Liverpool, they just care more about their own reputation than anything else so always target fanbases with a name for themselves - Napoli, Sevilla, Atleti, CSKA, Marseille recently off the top of my head. Liverpool were making a load of noise about their support so Roma attacked the Kop.

The only difference is the outcome.

No-one should go to a footy match and then be fighting for his or her life. I condemn all acts of violence in any walk of life. But put the boot on the other foot. I think that is what people are suggesting. I hope the guy makes a complete recovery but there is a clear hierarchy in reporting via every branch of the RDAHMeedya.

Yeah, the brushing under the carpet of the coach attack by the media was pretty shameful tbf.

It is, and although I wouldn't consciously link yesterday's typically cowardly and premeditated assault on a bunch of scarfers, to anything other than the despicable nature of those Roma fans involved, Liverpool have only themselves to blame in respect of the image they themselves project. In a bid to demonstrate their "istreeeeee" and to cement their own self-imagined position as European royalty (and particularly given that they were playing City, whom they sneeringly regard as arrivistes and who wouldn't understand their European 'traditions'), they chose to act like Galatasaray wannabes, chucking bottles, letting off flares, spitting and swearing at the City coach, and all egged on by stewards with megaphones and a minimal police presence.
If you're going to project that sort of image and attitude around the world, you can hardly act surprised when a bunch of rival fans, particularly ones from a country which previously suffered 39 deaths at the hands of Liverpool's delightful entourage, turns up and regards you as fair game for a scrap
