Raheem Sterling - 2017/18 performances

Still would be odd, when it turns out that isn't his tattoo will people change their minds? He mentioned something in his post about "shooting" with his right foot.

Essentially 'I don't need a gun this is what I shoot with'. It wouldn't be for me, though it's easy for me to say that as my father wasn't shot dead. It's personal to him like a tattoo should be.

Ffs are you for real?is he responsible for what anyone elses behaviour, jesus what a stupid thing to say

Haha Karen, can you point out where I said Raheem was responsible for anyone's behaviour ?

I said having a massive gun tat on your leg when your a famous person who influences young kids might be inappropriate in this day and age with regular shootings and killings in the world.

Maybe if this was Pogba or Lingard City fans wouldnt be saying its ok ?

If you still think Im stupid then fine. :)

Depends on the reason why he has it,it's all about the message and his is anti guns,it's also been there for 8months

Sky Sports are utter scumbags too.

Just seen a pic of his statement on their screen and they edited it, adding the word "again" as if Raheem had shot his father when 2 or being involved in gun violence.

Utter, utter scumbags.

So depressing that parts of the media can't let the man make his own private decisions and let him BE. And it's not reporting of any particularly ill judged behaviour. It's a premeditated strategy to smear one of the country's top players.

I don't believe the while anti-City media thing, but I DO believe there is a media policy to attack Sterling regardless of the evidence.

why are parents not able to teach their own fucking kids that guns aren't cool? since when was it a footballer's job to teach your kids right from wrong? fucking lemmings the lot of em

When Sterling first joined our side I wasn't sold - an inconsistent, diving, winger/striker (so I thought) - why did we sign him?

But since he's been in our side, his performances have convinced me otherwise - Sterling is a huge asset to our side - able to beat opposing defenders for pace/skill and creating numerous dangerous opportunities that more often than not result in goals.

At the same time....

Tattooing an image of an assault rifle on your leg... for God's sake - that's incredibly provacative.

I'm anti-gun except for hunting as a sport (I'm not in favor of hunting but at the same this sport does not require the use of a high capacity assault rifle). I cannot for the life of me see any reason why citizens should be allowed to own assault rifles.

For Sterling to tattoo an assault rifle onto his lower leg without accompanying cross-out, or "No!," or some such similar rejection - is going to be seen as pro-gun, pro allowing assault rifles.

Assuming that Sterling is actually opposed to these sorts of weapons, this tattoo is illustrative of an extremely poor ability to communicate

If Sterling is pro-gun, as suggested by his tattoo, I couldn't disagree more.

That said - I value Sterling as a City player - he's been great for our side. But if he's in fact anti-gun, he needs to consult with others before making any sort of public display/statement. Lucid, clear communication is vital. Tattooing an image of an assault rifle on your leg if in fact you're anti-gun is at best going to be confusing.

For a start it's not finished,it's his way of getting through a trauma and it's americans because you have a guns culture that are getting it all wrong, also those who don't like or understatand what tattoo's are all about are just not understanding it

He's not trying to communicate anything. It's a tattoo with a personal meaning to him, the end.

Massive +1.

Also agree with what @karen7 said. These things take a lot longer than you would think they do to finish. You’ve got to take months off at a time to let the body heal before you can get back at it again. I’m starting a 3/4 sleeve and it’s gonna take at least 4 months to finish it and that’s a simple sleeve with a lot of line work and filled with a ton of negative space.

@CityInWashingtonState

I value you as a poster and I appreciate you sharing you’re thoughts and opinions here but I think you’re just a little off on this one which is perfectly fine but I’d say maybe open it up for possible reconsideration.
