Surely nobody is panicking?

We are letting Leicester sort something out at their end, a replacement, presumably.

I predict Mahrez will start the season and it will be hard for Sterling to get back in on a consistent basis, simply because this guy coming in is a phenomenal player and in this team...

I agree 100% if he'd joined us last Season we'd have a 3rd Cup on the shelf.

lol yeah Sterling will hardly get back in to this team, a team he has just contributed to significantly, with goals and assists, it is no wonder the Sun feels safe to give the lad a kicking.

What's appreciation got to do with the price of fish?

Raheem has been brilliant but Mahrez will have had a summer of rest and is every bit as potent as him.

You always go with the man in form and I expect Mahrez to show everyone just how phenomenal he is because he will likely start the season.
 
Come on now,raz is peps project so he won't be down the pecking order once he gets back from his holiday,they can scrap between them but raz is 2 yrs into how pep wants us to play and rez will take time to get it,he will learn from raz i'm sure

If anything, I see Sterling being utilised even more down the middle by Pep next season when we play a three at the back.

Sane ...... Sergio/Jesus...... Mahrez....

I think a lot of people were assuming, with the arrival of Bernardo and the Sanchez chase, that raheem would fall down the pecking order. It wasn't the case then and it won't be now. Pep trusts him: despite the missed chances, he brings us up to a whole other level. Would like yo see him down the middle at times but still maintain that Mahrez, Sterling and Sane will play a fairly equal amount overall.

Our ITKs said it's a done deal (60M + add-ons. Add-onds for a certain number of appearances, if you win the league and/or the UCL) and that we should expect it to be announced at the end of the week-end.

Given Germany, Brazil and Argentina will no doubt go further than England, coupled with the collective orgasm within the media if Sterling started the season on the bench, I would expect Mahrez will be moved about the front three alongside Sterling.

Right then, what form will Mahrez have shown to usurp Sterling, only if we are going with the man in form line ?

I understand he may get start due to Sterling possibly being tired from the world cup but I am seriously expecting England to be knocked out in the usual manner and Sterling may well be well rested anyways.

For the record I have never said Mahrez is anything other than a good player, I just prefer to show a bit of loyalty to one of our own players who has been instrumental in getting us this latest title, if and when Mahrez proves his class with us, I may very well change my mind as is anybodies right to do so but as of right now, Sterling has done more than enough to be first choice or as close to first choice in our squad system as you can get.
