Sky Italia saying Napoli could accept €50m outright with no add ons. Expected to move forward after Italy’s friendly with the Nederlands tonight; but I don’t see how that could have any bearing on the two clubs negotiation?

My personal guess is the deal is agreed, but we'll hear some more noise from ADL presenting him as a tough negotiator. City are simply waiting for Jorginho to be free from NT duty to sign the contract and make it all official.

He might rival De Bruyne for best long range passer at the club.

Rival him for 2nd place

I agree I said as much yesterday but it got lost amongst the Grealish De Jong debate and these leaks were all to enhance De Laurentis's reputation with their own fans.

Sounds like the most plausible explanation to me.

We are at an impasse if the press are to be believed they want X we offered Y thy wont compromise so we start getting linked with other players and everyone starts flapping.
Never confident of this going though from day one.

For some reason, (Balotelli apart), Italian clubs have seemed strangely reluctant to do any high profile deals with us since the arrival of sheikh mansoor in 2008. Kaka, Ibrahimovic, DeRossi etc.

If it were up to me we’d move on quick smart and never attempt to do any deals with Italian clubs ever again.

All of this talk is definitely posturing from De Laurentiis but I’m not sure the deal is as good as done yet.

If you gather up the rumours so far it seems like it's all playing out like it's supposed to hopefully with the end result in our favour...
1. Offer our lowest evaluation (probably knowing it will be rejected but hoping not ala Bernie - bet Monaco were spitting after seeing the fees for other players that came later and them playing tough over Mendy).
2. Offer a player on top of our 'low-ball' offer. (Again probably knowing it will be rejected but again you never know).
3. Paying the original price (knowing they'll try and squeeze more out of us)
4. Finally, paying the asking price.

Bit of a pain but that's way it is and it's only 4 June. What will be will be.

#100 pts #Centurions :)

You mean file it under "too difficult"? Thankfully we have a team who believe in their ability
