Sane left out of Germany World Cup Squad

Understandable omission, as there's a conflict of styles. Sane isnt the technical wideman that every other Germany winger(in the squad) is, just doesnt fit in the side.

He'd have been a sub anyway due to Reus being the guaranteed starter so may as well get the summer off than play about 30mins all tournament.

Maybe Low, the defending World Cup winning coach knows how to get the most out of the team he's managed for 10 years?

I love Sané and would have liked to see him at the World Cup but this isn't that big a shock, he's a bit part player for Germany, hasn't scored in any of his 15 games and is against some very, very good competition.

Yes, some feat with easily the best squad in the competition with nobody else in form. Anyway, I only care about Leroy doing well, not arsed what Germany do.

Sounds a lot like what the naysayers say about Pep and City.

I think Sane's weak spot is his vision and decision-making, he relies heavily on Pep's rigid system. You can often see him passing even without looking after a dribbling run - the system guarantees that somebody is there. It's not that surprising that he struggles in a less familiar surroundings.

Looked poor for Germany, so Loew's decision makes sense.

Edit: I think we won't see Sane as a central striker for the exact same reason - he's a wing attacker with a limited vision like Ronaldo (which doesn't mean he isn't a top player).

I also think he looks twice the player with Silva behind him ( who wouldn't) David seems to instinctively know where he is and plays him in.

I think Pep had a stiffer challenge last season and did a more remarkable job, we beat Stoke 7-2 and still had 37 other games, plenty against tougher opposition. Low beat the international equivalent of the Stoke defence 7-1 in the Semi-Final, after scraping through previous rounds, and then 11 of his players beat Messi in the final. Some genius.

Low would be great in England. Big lump up front to bounce the ball off and drop your talented players because you don't understand how to build a side around them. Sounds like Mourinho 2bh.

Happy for City that Leroy will be fresh but sad for the player and hope mentally. he has the strength to comeback next season and prove to Cock sniffer that he has to be in future squads i am sure PEP will give him the support needed

He's gonna tear the league apart next year, this should drive him to become even better. Can see him winning player of the year

Low has never given Sane a platform to do his stuff, hes the world cup holder so he can do what he likes,if it means making a vindictive idiotic decision he knows he will get away with it

There is nothing to suggest it's anything other than a football decision whether he's right or wrong we'll see but doesn't make it vindictive and Low's record suggests it's not idiotic either.

Cock sniffer LMAO

I expect deep sitting teams in the WC, tight defences.

Reus is great on the counter.
Brandt usually struggles when it counts.
Draxler isn't bad, but still I'd prefer Sané.

In big tournaments you need lads who step up in the big moment.
Leroy has a potential to change a game and break up a tight defence in a quick move, the other 3 don't.

Typical Low: he rates discipline and team team team spirit.
Maybe Sané's half-arsed body language and divaesque attitude didn't match Low's expectations.

Unfortunately one of Leroys biggest downfalls is his work rate defensively. Its a trait we see a lot of at City, which is a real shame as offensively the lad oozes class.
You seldom see a poor working German national team.
Perhaps that`s what`s seen him being left out.
I really was looking forward to seeing him in this World Cup.

You talk sense here... Pep has played Sane as an old school winger in a few games, where he's expected to cover the LB/RM/RW positions and it failed miserably. (IIRC was Everton at home one? The one where Sane gave the ball away and Rooney scored?).

A lot of people gave the manager stick, for playing Sane in a position he wasn't suited to. I think what the manager was demanding is that Leroy needs to be flexible and cover multiple roles should the worst happen in-game (LB get's sent off or tactically we want to go 3-5-2. The issue is he's so damn good in the final third and especially so when Mendy is at LB.

All of the defensive stuff goes out of the window when you put Ozil in, but he's been going well at international tourneys for a long time and his Arsenal form isn't of concern to Lowe.

Tough on Sane this, but it might be what he needs. Only 22.
