Jorginho

I'm with you mate....why did it take us so long to disagree with Napoli's valuation? It was reported at 55-60mil from the start? Were we hoping for a bargain? We have 2 targets for months (Mahrez and Jorginho)and only know we find out we not willing to meet Napoli's asking? We could have walked away while Fabinho or Fred were still on the market, as Napoli were never going to drop their price by another 50%....When in a million years is a guy like Lemina on the same level as Fred or Fabinho, who we let go to rival teams.....Hopefully this is just the club putting pressure on Napoli but we've seen the club release briefs before so its anyones guess, what is going on....
Can't you go one fucking post without fred and fabinho ,get over it

It is to us.
No it isn't we made a profit of £1 mill last year, 20 mill amortised is £4 mill so if this was last year it would lead to a 3 million loss.
Probably half the people that say just pay whatever were the ones saying dont put s/c prices up we don't need the money. We still have to be self sustaining.

Not necessarily, the money spent over the last two seasons is put through the books over the lives of the players contracts, so we're still paying that off in this window. Could well make the difference in not getting Mahrez.

Correct some people listen to the media to much.

Something not adding up with the numbers here to be honest. I imagine we would have known from the start roughly what the figure Napoli wanted was. Di marzio said that Napoli wanted €50m upfront yet now it’s gone to around €70m? Someone is bullshitting somewhere........

He has said he wants playing time. Either at Madrid or elsewhere. That's a come get me please, if you ask me:)

Also if there's a decent chance Isco gets put ahead of him under a new coach as the Kroos/Modric back up, and Casemiro aint going anywhere soon, whereas Fernandinho and D.Silva won't be around for much longer.

I still think he's an odd Jorginho back up plan, but then again Fred's nothing like Jorginho either.

More than likely Delaurentagob.

Correct! Mansour is minted no doubt but as you stated the club only made £1m profit! Granted it was a 13 month accounting period but the club has to work within certain boundaries and be self sustaining!

Low balling ADL is not gonna work. This is a man who is perfectly happy to keep Sarri on a payroll of 8 mil per year even though Ancelotti is the head coach. Pay him what he wants, else he is perfectly happy to lose money and let players/managers rot on the sidelines.

I think the market has been set for midfielders at around 50-55mil (pounds) this summer....Napoli and city must feel Jorginho is better as he is our No1 target....taking that into account, I think Napoli must feel we should value him accordingly...

Why would anyone be embarrased. Why is it naive For a start we''d have to know what was happening , we don't. We would also need to know what Napoli and Ancelloti are thinking, we don't. We have an experienced successful negotiating team they will know what they can get him for and what they think he's worth we are in a powerful position these days we will have other options.

Its naive to think that we could one of the best players out of a team that is historically a hard negotiator for a price that is frankly ludicrous and get it done at the start of the summer. We're setting deadlines on a deal they aren't desperate to complete and expecting them to throw a wobbler because there's a clock ticking? Its nonsense.

It might work if they had signed Torreira or if Jorginho was gagging for the move but he said only last week he was planning on rejecting offers and staying in Napoli because he's happy there. So the fact his contract is running down is irrelevant because he could easily sign an extension, and even if Ancelotti really doesn't want him there are plenty of teams who could afford him at this kind of price.
