No offence meant at all.

I come in peace not as an argument provoker - particularly as I am somewhat ‘outnumbered’ and arguably on the wrong forum.

Clouded by his performances for Engerlaaaand - yes you have a fair and valid point- I 100% concur.

I was trying (badly) to compare them out wide and creatively but since (correctly again) I have seen his play limited to motd and sky then I have to bow to the greater knowledge of those who see him perform wiwo.

Apologies once again if I have inadvertently caused offence.

Why do I keep seeing £60m and £75m? The tweets from City Watch on Monday list those figures in Euros:

Not that it makes a crazy difference, but just saying.

I’ve just watched the Portugal v Moroccan game and the skill levels and attitude of the Moroccan players were very good. ( Bernado had a poor game).

Bearing in mind also the examples of Mahrez and Salah, the ability to spot talent from North Africa at an early stage could pay off royally.

There’s a lot of potential there for sure. They literally bossed 90 mins vs players who play for big clubs in Europe.

You didn't insult anyone so you have no need to apologise. It's better just to say what you think. Sterling plays poorly for England, but had an outstanding season for manchester City. He scored 18 league goals and had 11 assists which is better than anything Mahrez produced and considering our play does not solely go through Mahrez / Vardy I think that is even more impressive. The problem for Sterling is that he does not have the confidence of England and plays poorly - whatever the reason, there is certainly a huge disparity between his club form and the form he shows for England so I wouldn't blame any football fan for questioning the ability of Sterling. So often this season, Sterling was the man who made the difference in games. He has that acceleration and speed of feet that no one else in football has accept maybe Kylian Mbappe.

I suspect this transfer saga will run until deadline day although whether there are any substantive discussions going on is difficult to tell. At some point City expressed an interest, but whether it is ongoing who can say.

Tunisia are also capable of playing that way only they were tactically very negative against England. I wouldn't use a World Cup to assess players and teams. Lower division players elevate their games to levels that are not normal or players experience huge pressures and crumble. They tell you something but not full picture

Someone here calling Laporte an "inexperienced centre back" might be the most mentally challenged thing I have read the last month. Fuck my sides are cringing in laughter right now.

Some weird views expressed recently about Sterling. In addition to his outstanding stats for last season he made things happen and terrified defenses. Wouldn’t consider a swap for Mahrez (not that it’s on the cards). Like I said Mahrez is a big fish in a small pond. Unproven in a really good side. Not bothered out him and truly believe we can do miles better. Can stay at LCFC for all I care.

Except spotting them at the World Cup doesn't count as early

I thought the big ITK on here said this was already done a few weeks back ?? Sure he quoted the number 26 shirt as well or was this just putting two and two together again and hoping it comes off ??

Do ITK’s really exist ??

Rafael Leao could be plan B????

Can see this happening Mahrez leaving for either Liverpool or Arsenal.

Any indication of City walking away then I expect his agent will be contacting them.

I guess City won't pay anything more than 60m & Liecester want 75m.

Could go 65m & deal or 60m + bonus??

Who knows but we will know b 4 the weekend IMO.

If we walk then we may know of a potential Worldy becoming available.

You would expect us to have some "talent spotters" in North Africa though.

i'm sure we do, many of them end up french though.

besides, that Moroccan team is full of talented journeymen who you only don't know because, as proved again today, they didn't have the brains or desire to fulfil their potential.

None of them has ever set a foot in the PL until now, let alone been the PFA player of the year and Ballon d'or nominee (7th). Or has achieved the double figures goal/assists twice in the last three season. One of them is a proven PL player, the rest are a gamble. Bakayako (Chelsea) this season is an eloquent example.

He is in Hazard's league, ability and results wise whilst playing in a lesser team. So why should he be worth only 60M?

You've ignored my point entirely. Yes, he's been in the league and that adds some amount onto his cost. But we just aren't seeing the fees this summer that we saw last summer. And the few players who have moved this summer but were linked last are going for less than they were rumored for last year (Fabinho, Lemar are good examples). It won't last forever but last season seems to have been more of a market blip than continual growth.

Id guess it would be much easier for a french team to get them a work permit than an English team plus they would be french speaking.
