Haven't watched much England at all in the last few years, having watched that, credit to Southgate for selecting a younger, hungry squad. Panama weren't much but you can only beat what's in front of you.

I don't think this game raised his price by much.Levy laughing his balls off. Got kane to sign a new contract before the World Cup. If he wanted he could flog him for a world record fee
Anyone decent at this level can score two pens and just do feck all for a deflected goal.
Don't think Kane, Sterling or Vardy really got the ball in open play in either game tbh, the service through the middle is non-existent. Weird to say as we scored 6, but in open play we weren't very good, the formation doesn't really work. We just pass it sideways between the back 6 and our only outlet is long balls in behind for Lingard to chase, the other 3 attacking players become almost pointlessIt likely will. The current midfield in general is woeful, on either side of the ball.
We’ll see it exploited against Belgium.

Piling the pressure on with pointless, negative remarksThink you misunderstood him mate. He meant that it would have been the icing on the cake and would have given Raheem a boost. He wasn't slagging him off.
Kane doesn't deserve MOTM 2 pens and a deflection doesn't warrant it.

Fair play to Panama.
They didn't throw in the towel like Tunisia did in the second half yesterday.

Much protection of Sterling,and the subsequent media criticism,is warranted,but many actively go looking for a reason to be outraged.
And that is just sad,and weakens your previous stance.

That's Kane though, does little outside the opposition box - no doubting he's excellent at that but I suspect he's not much help when your team is under the cosh.He literally did nothing besides the penalties. If it's just one mention then fair enough. But it seems like every comment, especially by Shearer, has to mention his lack of goals. It's tedious and I am entitled to comment on it. Bear in mind, he was doing an immediate post-match summary of a fantastic ALL ROUND performance by England. In the right context, it's a fair criticism of Raheem in an England shirt, but to home in on one player only and to draw attention to him is, as I say, tedious.
