I wouldn`t mind if Shearer had said it with any malice.He was genuinely supporting him and as you say people just look for negatives when none are there.

It’s utterly bizarre what people will pluck out of thin air to get outraged about in this forum, it’s such a shame. When you see threads like the Collier Site thread where the media paranoia doesn’t seem to infiltrate, this place is brilliant. Outside of that the paranoia and thin-skins of our posters is ridiculous

Agree with all of that.

I am glad we won today, and comprehensively, but it papers over the cracks a bit, which may not be what we need going into the knockout stage. Hopefully Southgate and his coaching team saw the same things and works to correct them, though.
 
Watched the match with 5live commentary, every 5 minutes or so they would mention Rashford playing in the next game at the expense of Sterling, there literally is no reason to change or any sensible argument to support such a change, whether that is in changing a winning team for England or the season just gone but on they go, it is mindless incessant drivel because of who he plays for, pathetic wankers.
