It wasn't an empty net, it was through a crowded area. It was also a rushed half volley with his weaker foot while under pressure which is a lot harder than most would realise. He can't be missing an empty net.
Tell you one thing. Bernardo was pretty much Portugal’s best player, in the match I saw. That’s really with blue specs off. Everything, absolutely everything, was going through him. His control is exceptional, his vision good. He’s going to be an absolutely monumental player for us in years to come. The perfect player for the type of team we are.
Nico Otamendi, incidentally, was among the better players for Argentina.
Take a rest, Bernardo, Kun, Nico, Leroy. Come back fresh and raring to go. It’s going to be a long wait till August. The only thing that’ll get me through will be acquiring the services of one or two players. Say, a right winger. And maybe a defensive midfielder. Any ideas?
Best player on the pitch by a mile.Best player on the pitch in the 2nd half. Some lovely runs and clever passes
Barnado is a super player. Pep needs to bring him on in Cm not out wide imo.
Bernardo has had a hugely disappointing World Cup (same as most City players to be fair). He isn't the finished article yet so no way can we just snub Mahrez for him.

Disappointing in what regard? I thought he was excellent.
I agree he's not set the world on fire but I don't think that's got anything to do with him not being the finished article. Ronaldo plays in the same team. Just one of those things, the teams not good enough.Bernardo has had a hugely disappointing World Cup (same as most City players to be fair). Yes. As many have pointed out on here, we saw in that second half what he’s truly capable of doing in his true position - CM. There seemed to be a moment when he decided to show how he (not Ronaldo) could take the game by the scruff of the neck for Portugal, as he started ‘pulling the strings’ from a central position. His stamina impressed me, too: he ran, passed and dribbled with purpose and energy until the final whistle. He certainly did not deserve to be on the losing side and I think we should all appreciate what a talent we have here. And he’s still young. While DS is, indeed, irreplaceable, I think we saw his ultimate and worthy successor last night.
