At the time I thought that was the end of him
There's a photoshop thread in this picture.

Martinez got out of jail. If he persists with that formation and KDB playing number 6 they have got no chance. The two wingbacks, especially the one on the left are too slow. He needs to go 433 with KDB either on the right (where he scored 16 goals for us in his first season) or at number 10. He could also play Mertens, Lukaku and Hazard as the front 3. They would be unbeatable. He is a truly shit manager as any Everton fan will testify.

If he starts the same/similar team to what he did today then Brazil will be 4-0 up are half time. KDB and Witsel V Brazil is a disaster waiting to happen. Belgium won today because they had better players, taller players and Japan didn’t have the experience to see it out - non of those things apply V Brazil

I said before the tournament that Martinez isn’t a coach that is good enough to win the World Cup and I stand by that. Gareth Southgate, on the other hand.........

It’s coming home!!!!

Pretty sure he was on about the tournament as a whole.
Can't argue with that. It's been decent so far. Naturally it will be called a shit tournament and the russkies fixed it when Engerland bow out.

Great game, feel a little sorry for Japan who were very impressive. But full marks to Belgium on their comeback who looked dead and buried at 2-0.

Excellent pass from Kev for the winning goal.

The France vs Denmark game stank the place out. The majority of the Spain vs Russia and the Croatia vs Denmark games won't live long in the memory. Or the last 10 minutes of the Poland vs Japan game, when Japan were playing keep ball. It's been a good tournament, but to say there's been no bad games is stretching it a bit.

He's clueless. Genuinely clueless.

Wouldn't leave him in charge of a fucking toaster, let alone a national team.
Why on earth did they hire him in the first place, hasn't managed any big national or club teams, was sacked by a mid table epl club... some national teams hire crap managers because he is from the home country, but he isn't even Belgian....

The only reason I can think of is that there was nobody decent willing to accept the relatively low wage Martinez is on. I actually think Van Gaal would have been a good choice for them, but he would have wanted big wages.

Harsh. He's not that bad. Irrespective of what formation they would have played, Japan were very good. Pushing Kevin 15 -20 yards up the field was not going to negate how quick Japan were breaking. They were good. But apart from the pass for the third I thought Kevin was poor again, so was hazard for that matter. Kevin could do with a rest.

But it's true, they way Belgium are playing, keV may as well not be there. They are not playing to his strengths, just fitting him into the collection of individuals who are not a unit. Martinez is way out of his depth.
yes true, but if you have one off the best midfielder in the world in your team he play too his strangths not drop him
