You will find that the majority of my posts on this thread have been replies to point of views put to me. However, whether you or I like it or not, mosside blue does have a right to post his views in relation to the Sterling the thread. I might disagree his views but i dont think that means me or others should be able to tell him when or where he should be posting his views and opinions, because it does not interest the reader. You've articulated your understanding of what's going on perfectly.The press haven't been directly racist but many of the criticisms have racial elements that invoke racist stereotypes. That's why his picture is used in news stories about drug dealers. It's why we have constant references to his bling lifestyle and extravagant spending. Except when he's shown not to be that and shops in Poundland which I think is a class thing as well. The weird comparison between his and Kane's girlfriends and kids relationship is based entirely on harmful racial stereotypes of absent father's and sexual mores. The gun tattoo causes outrage becuase gun violence and gangs are seen as black problems.
I think, although I'm possibly not smart enough to articulate it well, that there is such a thing as the wrong kind of black and I think that is behind the comments about people not liking his personality.
