Jorginho

We haven't learnt from Alvez, you can't tell me City hierarchy didn't know Conti wasn't going & Sarri was coming in.

We allowed player to fuck off back to Brazil followed by his agent going back & forwards to London.
He had no World Cup, come do medical & sign pre contract.
City have some blame here & let him slip away.

Snooze you loose.
He can't come and sign anything till the clubs agree and the paperwork has been done, just because sarri was going to the chavs means nothing to us

But surely the better way to do that would be to say Chelsea have offered more money. Jorginho might not be able to tell us that wasn’t true. If he wants to come to us he would just tell us that De Laurentis is lying. Do you see where I’m coming from.
He said Chelsea made a bigger offer to Napoli and the player preferred London and Sarri. Gazzetto have since been briefed that the London/Sarri thing is bollocks, seemingly so have City going by the briefing yesterday.

Despite all the hysterical reports of a medical and a trip to London by ADL's pet journalists (He's done at least 2 of each so far including apparently flying from Napoli to London, being spotted in Milan, apparently then he'd gone back to Milan after about 15 minutes in Gatwick, then flying back to London which there's absolutely no evidence ever happened), there's no report of a medical by Chelsea's pet journos (the only thing they're reporting is Sarri, on his own, no double deal) and the only pictures going are of Jorginho in Napoli airport and in Milan.

Let's just say I'm extremely sceptical.

This is an example of a know nowt, spitting his dummy out.

I love "we allow" please let me know how we stop them ?

Do you think he has the tools? He's a big unit, as is Pogba for that matter, so maybe they have a turning circle that might not quite be quick enough against a high press, both in terms of receiving the ball with their back to the play and also needing to be on the half turn to make a quick pass.

Would their huge physical presence mean they would simply revert to a shield and protect the ball, before finding a proper pass.

That's my only concern for both of these guys. Similarly to Toure when he was at his peak and people struggled to fathom why we couldn't do anything in the Champions League with him coming short for the ball, teams would just make sure he could not turn and get the ball out of his feet.

Would our play actually be slowed down by purchasing a Toure clone for pivot?

He's incredibly agile for a big bloke, I'd wager he's plenty faster and more mobile than Jorginho. Has all the physical and technical tools to do the role, he loves a first time pass, has the passing range, but it's hard to know if he's got the brain because Lazio play a very different style. It could be he spends a month under Pep and just gets it, but as a spectator I don't have a clue how the scouting staff separate those from the ones who just can't get it.

He does well against the press because like Pogba he's got the quick feet to get a pass away even if he's got 3 guys bearing down on him, or can fashion a pass while holding someone off. Like you said that can slow play down, but that's something Busquets does a lot too, he just also knows when to speed the game up.

If we're running through back up choices, we were linked with him a while back, he can't be too far down the list IMO and Lazio are willing to sell.

A verbal agreement is law in Italy so the only way Napoli can sell Jorginho to Napoli is if Jorginho decides to go to Chelsea.

Hope the lad watches the full 90 minutes of both games against the chavs last season before putting pen to paper ;)

Not quite sure of all the hysteria about this- I’m sure we’ll be pursuing more than suitable alternatives should he go to Chelsea...

The quotes I read said

"I'd agreed a deal with them a fortnight ago, resolving various issues, but the player prefers London to Manchester and I can understand him, and then Chelsea are going to pay him more so I can understand him even more and I can't do anything about it.

It didn’t mention anything about Chelsea paying more. What I’m saying is if the above is not true the player could easily tell us so why would De Laurentis feel this would make us offer a higher fee. If the player prefers London then any increase in our offer doesn’t change that surely. Its irrelevant. If he doesn’t prefer London he just tells us and we sit tight.

However if the quote above is not quite correct he said Chelsea offered a higher fee then it makes sense.

Someone with a bit of common sense, and logical thinking, get the feeling going by what you’ve posted mate it’s that leech chancing his arm for more money and using sarri to Chelsea to give us a scare over Jorginho, still something not right about the whole bloody thing though..

Chelsea losing Willian and hazard and then getting Jorginho wil only put them backwards. Save the money put in a cheeky bid for hazard I read somewhere he’s desperate to leave and Barca started the talks

True but then isn't half the trick how you position your body in the first place (regardless of size)?

Not seen enough of MS but he didn't impress hugely at World Cup.
Yeah, but if you're a tall heavy fucker you've got a worse centre of balance along with more mass to move.

Never really impressed me in the Lazio games I've seen, was shocking in his one game at CM in the World Cup. People quote stats but he's a no 10 and for that position they're not great.

He has got it all. An elegant passmaster, a tackler who reads the game well. It's the perfect player in a deep mid role for City. Kovacic would work as well but he likes to dribble a lot and you wouldn't want to lose the ball in that position. Now Fred is unavailable as well. He would have been the perfect second choice.
So I hope they bring him in.
