I've no problem with their spending because they're addressing key weaknesses just as we did last summer. My only thing is, I hope the press hold Liverpool and Klopp accountable. Absolutely have to win a trophy next season.

Well, if they are involved in a title race during the run-in, then expect all decisions and penalties go in favour of them like it did in 13/14. A new name in the trophy would add to the PL brand.

Chamberlain out for the season. So that leaves them with Fabinho, Keita, Henderson, Lallana, Milner and Wjneiwhatshisname. I still think they’re a few players away from challenging. Mane, Firmino, Salah, Shaqiri, Solanke and Sturridge up top. Really can’t see them going the distance with this crop of players.

The squad options they have means they can sustain their gegenpress over the course of a full season.

They won’t accept it but a big reason why the market is so fucked is because of these ****s. Sell Coutinho for a record fee for a Midfielder, pay record amount for a CB and now pay record amount for a GK. Then you have to listen to the insufferable net spend bollocks. I hate these bastards.

So true.

“Other clubs can go out and spend more money and collect top players, yes,” he explained. “But if you bring one player in for £100million or whatever, and he gets injured, then it all goes through the chimney.

“Do I have to do it differently to that? Actually, I want to do it differently. I would even do it differently if I could spend that money.

Liverpool Football Club in hypocrisy shock.

Its very hard to press teams that dont have the ball. 80% of the games they play teams will sit back in a 541 and hope to hit them on the counter. This is where is struggle and cant break teams down.

They also still only get 3 substitutes, and they've shown that they struggle if they fail to score in the 30 minutes that they can keep it up for. I'd guess the point of the new signings is to get away from this one tactic style of play though.

Klopp's press game is primarily designed to retain possession and break teams down, much like Pep.

Liverpool took 12 points more from teams that parked the bus, last season. Media is lazy and loves to repeat things until it becomes the public truth.

Lost to Swansea, drew at home to Stoke and failed to beat West Brom in 3 attempts (2 draws in the PL plus knocked out of the FA Cup at home). That's 9 points dropped to the relegated teams. No point winning the 'We Beat City Cup' if they're going to do that.

24 of April Alisson conceded 5 against Liverpool.
2 of may Alisson concedes 2 against Liverpool.
18 July Liverpool bid nearly 69 million :) :)

How did you work those 12 points out?

No it isn't Gegenpressing involves winning the ball back as soon as you lose it and preferably as high up the pitch as possible. It's ineffective when the opposition are happy to let you have the ball and sit back. A lot of the games they dropped points in were against teams who let them have the majority of possession.
