I was going to say yesterday, if the club can get the fee lowered to €70m I would snap their hands off. A player of his caliber this late in the window - I think that's a good price for us. Still don't think we'll sign him, mind.

Bit odd for an agent of another player to come out and say that. Maybe it isn't just for an extension...though I'd imagine if Barca want him they'll get him.

Honest question, if even Fern isn’t good enough for CL who do you think would be?
Hypothetically, not necessarily anyone we could or would sign but just which midfielders do you think are of the level required to turn us into potential CL winners?

A very good question. All three names you mention are adequate replacements for Fern but not a massive jump in class. In a sense we are looking for the impossible a person who can cover, tackle move the ball quickly but also has a passing range like KDB A kind of super Yaya if you like. Jorginho (and I have not really seen enough of him) appears more of a passer than a defensive shield and pivot. The type of player I would be looking for is a cross between Fern and Kross and of course that is one for my Santa wish list.

I know. But that's a shit thing to do as a teammate or a teammate's agent. If Aguero had been rumored to leave and Gabby's agent said "Aguero's already indicated his will to leave City and I expect concrete offers to come from Real Madrid and PSG." Would that not seem odd to you?

Maybe. I would just assume he would try to be professional about it knowing that his client is behind Pjanic in the pecking order. Unless ITKs at Juve already know that the club plan to sell Pjanic.

Think you've nailed it there mate. Juve will probably sell one of them to balance the books and I don't reckon Sturaro wants to leave / hasn't gotten any offers, so his agent is trying to push Pjanic further towards the door.
