United thread 2018/19

I think they were a bit gutted that it stopped being all about them so soon. Certainly in Manchester anyway. Yeah the achievements at the time were incomparable but the nature of the win v Gillingham and the joy it gave all blues was amazing. Perhaps it could be compared to how we may have felt had Liverpool not failed so spectacularly in the CL final this year.

In the big picture that win over Gillingham was a lot more important to us than the treble was to them. OK our win did not have the world wide exposure and they still dine out on it, but if we had failed that afternoon it doesn't bear thinking about where we were going.

Can’t believe he said some of those things, especially on martial. Squad confidence must be at an all time low at United. Be lucky to finish top 5 with that twat in charge

must be a very bitter pill for them at the moment having city sat on the top perch and Liverpool chipping away trying to jump on, we had to endure years and years of them clearing up trophy after trophy season after season and now its all been reversed, i for one will stick a big fat cigar in my mouth and sit back and enjoy the 3rd episode of failed manager syndrome slowly unfold at the swamp over the next 6 months and then onto the 4th manager who will start over again and rebuild costing millions only to end up with a worse team than he inherited, it makes fantastic entertainment off field. United are 3 years behind city and losing ground at a rapid rate, enjoy it because they did with there little pathetic clock banner its finally come back and bit them on there arses.

They’ve played more games pre season and got a lot of their key players back in place compared to where we are. Meaning they will be a lot more sharper when the real stuff starts, you don't give these giddy fuckers a few points start early doors as the momentum that got them to a champions league final might start to manifest into their league campaign.
Ah right the mickeys.
I thought you meant utd.
My bad.

I hope United do what they do last season and be the turd that can’t be flushed from second. Jose gets another year, we get another title. Will be making my rag mates squirm by informing them I want them to do well this season. The nauseating Scouse tide that could grow this year needs killing at source we don’t want them anywhere near us in the league as they are a bigger threat than the rags at the moment.

I doubt he will jump and nor will Utd want to cough up a huge lump sum to get rid. I think as much as it looks he will leave before the season ends (especially with these comments tonight) they will be stuck with each other. There are not many jobs going currently or look likely to become vacant soon for what Jose would want.

This looks like it could be a fun season.

Sounds like a similar scenario to his last season at the Kremlin.

Way to go Jose. As a City fan I dislike us touring USA but see it as a vital thing to do from a business point of view, sure the club see it that way as well, as will the scum...

You don't shit where you eat from Jose, those comments must be embarassing as fuck for the club surely? You can't go to the states and call their refs shit and tell their fans they have wasted their money for fuck sake, unbelievable

You also shouldn’t be calling your kids during pre-season.

Lifted from reddit, lifted from Simon Stone

Jose: "We start the game with players who are not even going to be here. This is not even 30% of my squad."

Jose: "Eric Bailly was not going to play. When he saw Smalling was leaving in the warm up, he thought I don’t want another kid on the pitch."

Jose: "This game gave me nothing at all."

Jose: "I would like two more players. I don't think I will get two. I think I will get one. I gave a list of five. I wait to see if we get one."

Jose: "Matic had surgery. Out for the start of the season."

Jose: "If I was them (fans) I wouldn't spend my money to come and watch these teams."

Jose on Sanchez: "We're playing here just to try + survive and have some not very ugly results. Alexis is the only attacking player we have. The poor man is trying his best with the frustration of someone who wants more. Alexis, Mata, Darmian, Eric, Pereira. Phenomenal attitude"

Jose on ref: "The officials came here from the baseball federation and thought it was a baseball game and realised it was soccer."

That is the words of a man who’s asking to be sacked. I don’t think he wants to be there, because he can see other clubs and managers are better than him and United.

The contrast between Pep and Jose is huge. Pep praising the youngsters on the US tour, Jose throws his lads under the bus.

Oooh - Sandra's Not Happy...

Goldilocks out ! Effing on social media, typical rags...…….

Mourinho clearly does not have the skills to lead his club any more. The club has a job on because they are not used to failure, nor are they used to their local rivals being a dominant presence. They are very used to financial superiority creating an unequal playing field where they are domestically unchallenged. Those days have gone and neither he, nor his club, have the skills to deal with it.

That’s what people were saying just before both Gollum and TT were sacked.

You may be right with that one, it took them a few decades from Busby to appoint there next successful manager in Fergie. A long time in the wilderness , whilst we can be content with the fact the last 3 managers we have had have lifted the league. You can keep swapping the brains at City and the club keeps winning.

This about sums it all up ..

Because unlike other clubs, and one in particular, we have a structure in place that isn’t reliant on one person.
