Rummenigge at it again

Under Pep City have spent conservatively on individual players. We might spend a lot in a window, but spread over many players. We're unlikely to make huge expenditures on known but over valued talent - rather, we'll spend the market value (more or less - probably prices are a bit inflated just due to the fact that we're in the PL and are a club that can afford to spend) on young talent with lots of upside potential. A large part of our success is due to our ability to identify such players.

If you're a club that cannot or will not match our spending, you'll complain about it - often inaccurately blaming us for player price inflation. Whereas PSG especially, Barca, Liverpool, RM and United have spent record sums on individual players in recent years.

Which... IMO, is fine. So long as such expenditures are legal, then if you're a competing side, you'll need to cope with it as best you can. Bitching about your inability to spend doesn't cut it - but it's expedient to do so (creating an excuse for failure and voicing a message popular with fans), and is thus, rather more expected than not.

What about Barca trying to buy fucking Willian for MORE than our record transfer fee? What about that?

City saw players they wanted, and went for them. They can buy any player they want, and that makes people jealous (me included).

PSG, RM, Barcelona and United are more responsible for the inflated prices for the top level players/galacticos. Not that I think it is anything to moan about. It's just the way it is. The general inflation is caused by the crazy money that PL clubs can splash.

You can see he carefully avoids talking about his mates in the old boys network. Wonder if anybody take his shit serious. You only have to look at the transfer record list to see who are buying the most expensive players.

It's a disgrace really, we may have spent a lot but we paid market prices and only to freshen up an ageing squad when we needed to, we haven't forced moves through with obscenely inflated fees. Lets see how Bayern freshen up their squad with Robben and Ribéry coming to the end of their careers, he should watch his mouth really or he may eat those words.

City's current record is £60m for Mahrez as we all know, meanwhile United paid an obscene amount for Pogba(£100+m with addons) and then Lukaku(£90m)... Liverpool in the last 12months broke two transfer records £75m on a CB and now £60m on a goalkeeper... and yet it's City's name that he mentions FIRST, he put us before PSG in that sentence about inflating the market. There's always those who say it doesn't matter but it kind of does, granted there's no need to get overly upset about it but we still need to correct public statements like this and correct anyone else repeating it with the facts too for that matter.

Let them give United and Liverpool some stick if anyone's going to take any for the inflation, lets also see how those guys change their tunes too when they've not got any argument to make.
