Who now then?...

Re Rabiot, there are rumours that Milan is interested in him and that Leonardo (ex-PSG director, now in Milan) , are in a better position to sign him.

Interestings points lads/ladettes re Rabiot. Dont think anyone from the Man city tower has denied interest in Rabiot either?

Pep said yesterday that we are specifically looking at a player who can cover Fernandinho’s position.

Rabiot is a promising midfielder, but he plays where Foden, Silva and KDB plays, he’s never going to be a cover for Fernandinho’s position.

I was thinking the same thing.

Pep's " special player " is possibly a player who is off the radar and some distance away from the players that are coming under the microscope, or it could be his way of explaining why we might not end up signing anybody in this window ?

A few more days of guessing probably.

Rabiot has asked PSG not to play DM, so it can`t be him. Pep said that if we sign someone it will be someone "special", which probably rules out Lemina. Ndombele or Frenkie De Jong would be my guess. Saul is incredibly unrealistic, but there`s not many better young DM`s in the world than him, and I would personally love him

Can someone compile a list of possible DMs? Or it only Lemina and Nzonzi that are realistic options?
Lemina
Ndombele
Frenkie De Jong ? (have been interested in him earlier)
Ramsey (Robson said that we stayed in London for an executive meeting to discuss transfers etc.)
N`Zonzi

Think people are reading into Pep’s “special” comment a bit much. Think he meant it as a way of saying unique in terms of being able to play the way we want and has the “good person” trait he talks about. Don’t think it’s going to be a huge name signing, Kroos etc can be disregarded instantly.

Moussa dembele? Supposedly Spurs willing to listen to offers as he enters last year of contract. Always thought he looks comfortable and accomplished on the ball. Would be a stop gap signing and means having to deal with Daniel Levy again ....
