De Bruyne injury - Back in Training (p89)

I’ll refrain from getting too giddy until we have official confirmation, although Kristof is usually pretty good. Fingers still crossed for now.

Could work in our favour. There was a period towards end of last season when I thought his game dipped a little from the extraordinary highs and he has had so much football. We can handle 2 months particularly if he were well placed by the time he comes back and he comes back fresh.

The job for the boys now is to keep us at the top, and then we put our foot down.

About Liverpool/Tottenham games.. if he's ready he's ready. If not, just think of the kind of message we can send out if we win those duels without him! Also don't bet against other sides getting key injuries. It happens to all teams. We're lucky in that we have a young squad. They are more resilient and heal quicker. OT another matter

Yeah I think this might work out pretty well. KDB's best months last season were September/October/November when he was fresh. As the season wore on he seemed to be picking his moments more, and if taking 2 months out means he's at that level in December/January/February we'll be better for it.

The only worry for me is that he might come back less than 100%. Aguero just had his surgery to fix his knee because after a couple of smaller knee injuries like this one, he'd lost some mobility and was playing through discomfort.

Quick return now might mean a surgery down the line.

If we have a 100% record before we travel to Anfield it may be a blessing in disguise (should he return after the International break.
If we drop points tho it will be hard not to conclude it's because we don't have our master lockpicker

Sounds like good news. Would be nice now to wipe the smile off some of those Liverpool faces that have been celebrating this. Imagine winning every game between now and playing them. Would send out a massive statement to do that without our so called talisman. In the event it really is a 2 month time frame I wouldn't even bother risking him in that game. Would be a big ask to expect him to hit the ground running in a game like that. Hopefully the boys we have available will impress over the next couple of months and we can head into that game with our tails up and not bother sweating on KDB's fitness

Positive considering it could have been much worse. It's quite concerning that he's strained the same ligament twice now though (in two years?), so hopefully his recovery training will strengthen it back up for the rest of the season.

Thankfully no surgery is needed. 8 weeks out isn't bad considering the schedule isn't massively difficult.

Surely Pep can transform The Mangler into a world class midfielder. It's only water into wine!
Blimey ! how time flies. I remember the first game - IIRC - was at home against Chelsea - he had a brilliant game.
He was in the French squad for Euros 2 years ago.
I did not see him in the WC squad though , so he missed out on a WC medal - I assume.
