I'm standing in the Seasoncard category and for those who don't know me, I'm Colin Savage (plus you get to see what I look like in real life). You know how vocal I am in criticising things that I believe aren't right and you have my promise that I'll stand up for the fans of this club, particularly the match-going ones.
What are the issues that affect match going fans?
And where do you stand on them?
- There’s ticket prices for one, both season and one-off. They don’t need to be as high as they are. I’ve consistently had a go at the club on here & in KOTK over this. You’ll pay £10 less to watch Newcastle at Arsenal than you will do at City on Saturday plus it would cost a family of 4 £150 to watch the game. That’s ridiculous.
- We need to get younger fans more involved instead of pricing them out.
- Away tickets. More & more seem to be going to hospitality customers & (for the biggest games) tourists. I’d like to see some transparency from the club and a fairer way of allocating them.
- Safe standing is obviously another. I want to see it introduced.
- The general criminalisation of match-going fans is another of my bug-bears. We can’t be trusted to drink at our seats along with other things that are perfectly ok at a concert or rugby game. I went to an FSF roadshow ‘Watching football is not a crime’ and heard some real horror stories.
- The standard of catering at most grounds. It’s piss-poor yet we’re paying premium prices. We should take it off the third party and bring it in-house or, if that’s really not practical, find a way of improving the quality. I went to a baseball game in the States a couple of months ago and it was another level completely.
- At City particularly people complain they can’t get 2 seats together yet see whole rows of empty seats at games. I want to know why & what we can do about it.
- People who live too far away are being charged for season tickets they can’t fully use & Ticket Exchange only allows you 6 sales, plus I believe the club won’t list tickets in areas where they have unsold seats until they’ve sold those seats. We need to find a way to solve that.
- Security and getting into the stadium is another one. By making us queue outside for longer we’re less safe in my opinion and there’s loads of anecdotal evidence that the measures are ineffective and probably designed more to stop you taking food & drink in.
They should name the person
They certainly could have managed the whole process better, including publicising it. That's precisely why they need a committee like this. They don't see things we way we see them.
It would be quite good of the club to inform ALL fans registered with them about this!! Not every fan is on Blue Moon or other forms of social media. Apart from what I have read on here I have heard nothing from the club regarding this either for submitting an application, which I wouldn't have done anyway, or even to now vote for the people nominated!!
Surely everyone with a Cityzens number should be allowed/eligible to vote?
isn't this what the supporters club is meant to be for ? ( kevin parker). what exactly do they do ? on all the biggest issues such as ticket prices you rarely ever hear anything from them. we need something to actually stick up for and represent our fans
The OSC have never seen themselves as a campaigning group, like a union for example, but I know Kevin regularly takes up the cases of his members & I also know that some on here will testify to that. Whether anyone thinks that's right or wrong is not the point; they are what they are and they gave a relationship with the club that works for them. I'm not going to criticise them for that.i don’t know Kevin Parker but I did go to the Supoorters Club AGM this year and they had raised many thousands of pounds for City in the Community projects.
Maybe the OSC could do more fans but I don’t see the yardstick as criticising the Club in the MUEN or over social media. There are enough Blues doing that already

It is why we need an independent group however & that's something I've wanted for a while. But a representative of one a largest groups of supporters has a right to be on that committee whether that's Kevin or someone else the OSC wants. Personally I'd have simply co-opted the OSC & DSA and let them decide who represents them.
And thanks to all Bluemooners who voted for me.https://www.mancity.com/news/club-n.../man-city-fan-network-elected-representatives
Well done to those elected!
