this sane none story is getting on my tits by the press, they are trying to dig the dirt and unsettle a player and manchester city and pep but people must understand sane is stll a very young player and needs grounding and rest just like sterling will this season, rotation will be a big key thing this season and we have to play even better than last season with teams wanting the tag of beating the champions so asking for more from players in games is right

the squad is better than last season and with mendy fit the team is playing a different way and the need for 2 wide wingers is not needed at this stage of the season, so sane and sterling will find game time hard and maybe on the bench more than last season, but again i feel the press are attacking us this season and adding the pressure, and sane is the first easy target and i see many more stories about city players popping up all season

we are a strong bunch of players that are bonded together and a tight knit group so i feel it will be water of a ducks back and sane will be just as good if not even better this season and in champions league manchester city are going in hard this season and the big guns we have will fire and take on all comers, so look out for a great 2nd half of the season and city and sane will be on fire very soon

The problem with your "If a United player..." hypothetical is that Toni Kroos isn't someone who plays for our local rivals and might feel the need to get involved in fan rivalries.

KDB has spoken about needing to take Sané off to a corner and talk him down because he got stroppy at a managerial decision. We've seen the video of Pep stop a crucial team talk at halftime to tell Sané to stop being moody, then in preseason after Liverpool Pep said he " he needs to regain his principles in terms of playing without the ball" if he wants to start. He's been dropped by his national team manager and his club manager, and now a senior teammate in the German squad has mentioned something.


At what point do you stop shooting the messenger and say, maybe these 3 people are not all attempting character assassinations on the kid, and are just trying to push Sané towards changing something - attitude, application, body language, whatever - because he's got all the potential in the world, he can genuinely be one of the very best players in the world and him playing at his best and fulfilling that potential benefits all of them.

I've no interest in discussing what Pep & KDB say to Sane, he is a City player & they can do what they like.

Kroos plays for Real Madrid & sees the favourites for the Champions League, his biggest rivals outside Barca, & the player who, he knows, can run his fucking team ragged.

He's a **** & should shut his fucking face.

Utd, Liverpool would not take this & say 'oh he's got a point' .

I'm just surprised, no gobsmacked, some folks actually believe Kroos thinks those comments will help Sane.

Like the posted said previously, none of us know what he’s like behind closed doors, but I’m very sure Kroos and Co know more about him than posters on the internet. He might be that much of a twat that Kroos has been asked by the other players to do this simply to get inside the kids head. It makes as much sense to me as your theory does to you. We'll have to disagree. Kroos is despicable. Sane will have been emotionally shattered by being dropped for the World Cup. He needs encouragement and support not public humiliation. Perhaps he does need some "tough love" but that can come from Pep (in private). The treatment of the Turkish players in Germany for starters is a form of racism which needs calling out. The rhetoric from Kroos is just a repeat of the "Black players are lazy and feckless" narrative we have seen for decades in football. The Sun knows what it is doing when it runs these stories. It always plays to the lowest common denominator. Sadly because it makes commercial sense for them.

I am not saying it is overt racism. It's more subtle than that and all the worse for it. The "body language" narrative is often used about Black players. We have seen it recently with Raheem who is incredibly hard-working. Like many young players Leroy will have periods when his form dips. Perhaps he is just down because of missing the World Cup. What Kroos has done is terrible. It's bullying really.

Smiling is a great shout.....However,i'd like to see him make a bigger effort to fight for the ball or not give up when the perfect pass to his feet isn't made.......a bit less huffing and puffing and throwing his arms about would help too.

Seeing as people are assuming Sané is at fault, when being accused of the wrong 'body language' (how the fuck does he interpret that ?) why can't I assume that a player in German outfit which has undercurrents of racism, has those leanings himself ?

It's just as viable a possiblity as wrong 'body language'.
