I'm feeling good about today. Pep is definitely the type of manager that learns from his mistakes and will have a plan for today.

First half of the 2nd CL game last year we played them off the park and no reason we can't repeat that for 90 minutes. I expect the team to be well up for this and looking to lay down a marker.

I going to be bold and predict a 1-4 win for us.

You quite obviously didn't know he wasn't to be in the sqaud, which was the point, as you derided that notion from another poster.

He's back to his usual standing now.
Ah! I see. You have a point there.

Mendy playing means he’s dropped Sane, Mahrez takes Sterling’s better position (unless he plays left side) Otamendi or Kompany should be playing , I think it’s unbalanced & experimental in a game like this is crazy .

You have to go Stones and Laporte in this game because we need players who can pass around the press, and Otamendi gets terribly exposed against pacey players.

Honestly, I’m expecting to lose. Just hope we’re not on the wrong end of a thrashing. I’d celebrate a point.

Delph is a huge miss, his leadership is underestimated and he would have helped rebalance the physicality.

I cant predict this.

I think Klopp has anticipated Pep going for our ball-playing centre backs and our more technical players and has countered by going more physical. They will be dominant on free kicks and corners, looking at the line ups.

I'm not sure why mahrez is in. Hope he proves me wrong But I don't see what he will offer by cutting back and crossing with his left to Aguero. Van Dyk will love it.

That is one of my points, coming inside only plays into the hands of there midfield three to close us down and double up with the fullbacks against us. Also as you point out we do not have a target man so really ww need to get behind them.

I do think though that having Raz on the left assists with the defensive side, Leroy isn’t biggest fan of tracking back.

It’s a weird conundrum moving forward though when in reality Mendy and Leroy want to occupy the same space.
I don't think it has to do with tracking and more to do with possession. Both Mendy and Leroy are 2 of our weakest in possession. Thus adding Mahrez was an attempt to increase possession.

My sense is that David will drip deep next to Dihno, Sterling will swuesquin as a 2nd syristr anf Mendy will take up the left wing.

Walker will tuck in, and Mahrez will hug the line on the right.

That's my tactical prediction.
