Why? We make a fair offer and no more. Two goals against an average side changes nothing. Hope he stays but not at any price. We need to hurry up and meet his demands, or we'll look like right mugs.
Really depends on what he will settle for and what Madrid will pay us for him. I think he may be on his way back to Spain in a year or so.A 23 year old who scored contributed to 35+ goals last season. How hard would it be to find another of his age who can do the same? And how much would it cost
We'll kick ourselves for years if we don't pay up.

Very very happy for Sterling but I did wonder the same thing!!I hope his performance against Spain has not encouraged Real..

True, but at the same time he has (on the basis of 1 game) got the UK press monkey off his back. Would that make him more likely to stay at home?I hope his performance against Spain has not encouraged Real..

Maybe because you have players playing for 12 months when they don't want to be there?I would like us to actually do what United do and try and get our players contracts to have an optional 12 month extension on the side of the club.
I don’t see why more clubs don’t do this, but can’t imagine we’re being outdone by Woodward, so there must be a commercial reason.
If he went would we replace him like for like. It may be leaving more room for Foden and Diaz and also opening up an opportunity to bring back Sancho assuming he keeps on improving. The amount it would cost us to replace him is insane
