Spurs’ new stadium

I can't see what's all the moaning for, it's a football game, same pitch for 2 teams, probably best to meet at Wembley then 1st game at the new stadium with the crowd all manic

Chairman Daniel Levy said: "In light of factors completely outside of our control, contractors missing deadlines and possible future unforeseen issues, we are naturally being cautious.

Yeah, "outside of our control" my arse.

Also what is he on about with that highlighted comment, are they anticipating bits dropping off the new stadium in the first season?
Probably the cheese in the cheese room going off.

Spurs attitude to the fixture change isnt great , our supporters have been incovenienced due to Spuds lack of planning , they have made no offer as far as i am aware of any compensation to supporters who had booked tickets/hotels for the original date , it would be poetic justice if we gave Levy and his club a good spanking on Monday night.

There biggest punishment is that fantastic new stadium which will stop them competing for the next 20 years all rumours they’ll have to sell before they can buy even though they bought no one in the summer and the 100 of millions from premier.

The irony would be Spuds becoming a mid table team and their lovely new stadium being half full , White Half Full Lane , has a nice ring to it

Give it a few seasons without CL and Levy will be begging to sell the new ground to Shahid Khan.
A stadium purpose built for the. PL and NFL.
I wonder why he really pulled his bid for Wembley?

Did I read somewhere or was it on BBC that a few days ago Spurs was opening their club shop (obviously before the Stadium)
and it is reckoned to be the largest Club Shop - for a football team - in Europe.

Yep, you remembered correct.

They must be filling the shop with the shite Mike Ashley sells because there isnt enough Spuds fans to buy their replica "our year , next year " shirts.

They've now announced they're staying at Wembley until the end of the year, at least. At which time they reserve the right to change their minds again. Levy's explaination of cause shifts blame 'due to factors beyond our control', but what about the factors within their controls?

Yet more fans and opponents inconvenienced, yet again nothing from the FA who seemingly are letting Spurs rewrite the rules as they go.

Yes, safety is important, but so is maintaining a fair environment for fans and competition. Their lack of foresight and planning should be punished, but won't be. Levy's complete ignorance of the expense and inconvenience his club have caused to actual people, is hardly even discussed on wider circles.

Really hope we hand them their arses on Monday. A good five or six past Lloris would count also for me.

They won’t play in it this season. Been saying it for months. Construction will effectively shut down from 14th December and won’t get going again until early January.

Been saying this for a year. The programme was unachievable.

Completely agree. They really shouldn't be allowed to continue dragging this out indefinitely. The Premier League should have told them that December 15 against Burnley was their final deadline. Miss that and they have to complete the season at Wembley. Personally, I'd have been even stricter than that, but the PL have bent over backwards to accommodate them and Spurs are taking the piss now.

Check out the photos of new White Hart Lane on BBC. It is now a NFL venue, not a football ground. Looks weird. Ratio of pitch length in NFL is 1.9. It's about 1.5 for football. I don't like that

He stadium might look complete but teething issues and doing all the snagging in a building of that size and complexity would I should imagine take ages. Then there will be a huge ammount of testing of services to conduct. Fire systems, sprinkler, electrical circuits, drainage, alarms, plumbing, cctv, PA, computer systems. You name it, it's probably all in that stadium all needing approval, then there will need to be staff training which all takes time and scrutiny will no doubt be tight after Grenfell. These things take months on a building that size not a couple of weeks.
