This is brilliant all this, love it!

They are absolutely desperate. The G14 across Europe have got the media coming out with the biggest load of bollocks you could imagine and all we keep doing is winning and ignoring it all.

Top class City, fucking top class!

The funny thing is now is that even fans of other clubs (apart from the bitters across the fanbases) are starting to side with us over the media shit. Of course the bitters are frothing at the mouth, which is nowt but funny!

Maybe if Raz had gone to the ref and said he wasn't touched, he feared the referee would have booked him for diving. As a club City have always been pro VAR and last night it would have been a perfect situation for it.

It again demonstrated what a waste of time Harry Potter is at the side of the goal who must have had a clear view. The ref certainly seemed to not want to punish a number of fouls on City players in the second half as a way of righting a wrong.

To add a bit of balance I thought Robbie Savage was very fair last night. I don't know if anyone else noticed but every time his co-commentator tried to lead him down the road of the last week he said nothing, complete silence. The one time the other guy tried to have a dig you could hear him give a little sigh and then said, "Anyway" and went back to praising the team.
Although he's a bit dim, he is a footballer, and he can only marvel at the quality of our players. He is paid to talk about what he see's on the pitch, and he comes at it from the perspective of a player. He knows there is an agenda; he's probably been in production meetings where the discussion was about slagging off City.

I think that was the impression they wanted to give but I believe it was a planned piece of dialogue disguised as naivety.
I disagree. Naga tends to be very vocal and the programme has gone down the Loose Women route. I think viewers tend to expect less insightful coverage.

The sports reporter SHOULD have explained why it wasn't cheating, but then she's a dipper, I think. Had a face like a slapped arse yesterday morning!

I think that if Shakhtar had been any good at all and got some players into our penalty area he would have found a reason to give them a penalty to even things up. As it was he missed a few possible penalties for us until that dreadful tackle on Silva gave him no option but to award a penalty.

Whenever I hear, see or read about Phil Thompson, Peter Reid's comments that were heard live on telly always comes to mind.

"Fuck off, big nose!"

As someone who has watched “life of Brian” over & over I actually read your quote & heard Eric Idles voice.

How about “where are you from conk city”

Yeah. Guardian might be the best from all the trash then
Didn’t bother to read Luke Edwards nonsense in The Telegraph. Yes we got a dodgy pen, we didn’t appeal for it and I don’t remember a clamour for Milner to admit he touched the ball when Sane scored or Robertson put his hand up to taking Sterling down last year.

Just to brighten everyones morning, this is a snippet from Phil Thompsons take on the Derby as published by Sky online ......

This is a huge problem for United, mainly due to the money Manchester City have - it's bottomless! At least at United it's kind of self-financing of what they generate but City have got a country running them. It's harsh but it's the way it is.

I'll leave it there.

He is unqualified to be discussing this situation when he’s coming out with stuff like that.

It’s factually incorrect.

There are many many pundits, ex footballers etc who are stealing a living.

The bottom line is it’s driven by jealousy. It’s only heightened by our success. Instead of blaming everything and everybody, he should be addressing why his own club aren’t operating as well as they could be. That applies to all the other clubs as well. City are a benchmark, but they can’t see past the rage.

City owners are that rich they could buy talkshite and a couple of papers and change the Narative easily but it’s all irrelevant to them and small fry. In words they don’t give a shit.

Why do that when you can quote:
Paul Merson

If Pep stays at City long-term, which is not a given as things can change quickly in football, then the power is with City. My slight worry with City is that there are no youngsters coming through. Phil Foden does not get a game, Jadon Sancho left - and City are not the youngest team in the world. If Pep had brought three or four kids through, then you would be thinking 'wow' but they have got the ammunition to buy the ready-made player.

Not the youngest team and no young players coming through you say?

Savage said several times that it was not a dive but a bad refereeing decision so fair play to him.
Pep was also on the sideline saying it wasn’t a penalty.
Did the media strikeout the score line when Young did his swan dive against Villa in the 11/12 season ? Double standards.

This is what Merson was doing just before he said that

BBC Sport news reporter covers the game.

They talk about the pen and how Sterling could have told the ref.

Female news reporter:

“That’s cheating isn’t it?”

I saw that. It was Naga Munchetty who said it, but I don't think she's that clued up on football. It was spoken from a naive position, understandable if you're not a regular watcher of any sport. The other presenters stayed out of it.

It's a bit like me asking why that rugby player didn't get banned for life for trying to gouge somebody's eye out.

I think that was the impression they wanted to give but I believe it was a planned piece of dialogue disguised as naivety.

Agree totally with MCX - she’s got form for having digs at City. Never seems to chip in with comments on any other teams. There’s no naivety where she’s concerned.

According to 90 mins

2nd youngest squad in the Premiership
Manchester City - 25.6 years
Oldest Player: Claudio Bravo (35)

Youngest Player: Phil Foden (18)

What is frightening about Manchester City is that they are already the best team in the Premier League, yet are remarkably the second youngest and so could feasibly dominate for years.

Average age for City’s starting line up in last nights game - 25.9

Talking about Media Bias - Sky have been showing the Champions League Tables at the side banner and they have Liverpool at the top of their group !
I was obviously under the wrong impression that they are actually 2nd in the group as they lost to Napoli.

This is the best football team these shores have ever seen - yet these sad, bitter 'professionals' are intent on denigrating it, and its achievements, instead of embracing the beauty. These are not football people and shouldn't have the privilege of being paid to watch and write about the game. In time, people will look back on articles written clowns like James Ducker and think wtf?

Eddie, Raheem, Leroy, Stonesy, Aymeric, Jesus, KdB, Bernardo, Riyad - all mid- or early twenties. Merson has Vinnie, Ferny and David Silva in his sights. They have a script and put forward the flimsiest of evidence, but seem to think that if they've uttered this 'truth' it must be Holy Writ!
