So rumours going round that if May is kicked to the kerb that Sajid is the most likely to get the support of most tories as a a middle of the road candidate between the hard line nuttters and passionate remainers.
Now it's no secret that he wants the job anyway, so let's look at mans record.

  • Almost always voted for reducing housing benefit for social tenants deemed to have excess bedrooms (which Labour describe as the "bedroom tax")
  • Consistently voted against paying higher benefits over longer periods for those unable to work due to illness or disability
  • Almost always voted against spending public money to create guaranteed jobs for young people who have spent a long time unemployed
  • Almost always voted for raising the threshold at which people start to pay income tax
  • Almost always voted for increasing the rate of VAT
  • Consistently voted for higher taxes on plane tickets
  • Almost always voted against increasing the tax rate applied to income over £150,000
  • Almost always voted against a banker’s bonus tax
  • Almost always voted for more restrictive regulation of trade union activity
  • Consistently voted for reforming the NHS so GPs buy services on behalf of their patients
  • Voted for raising England’s undergraduate tuition fee cap to £9,000 per year
  • Almost always voted for academy schools
  • Consistently voted for mass surveillance of people’s communications and activities
  • Consistently voted for merging police and fire services under Police and Crime Commissioners
  • Generally voted against measures to prevent climate change
  • Generally voted against a publicly owned railway system, almost always voted against slowing the rise in rail fares
  • Generally voted against greater regulation of gambling
  • Almost always voted for restricting the scope of legal aid
  • Consistently voted for the privatisation of Royal Mail
All these facts are available online, but looking at it..

Nah he is worse than May in fact he is a terrible person

GE or nothing, no other tory should be appointed to deal with this without the countries approval

To be fair he's a Tory and that is what they believe in. It's a very mean spirited philosophy but expecting any of them to be different is a waste of time.
Perhaps they should just give it to Ken Clarke on a temporary basis.

They change leader and therefore the PM they go to the country. They put their money where their mouth is or they can fuck off.

That said I can’t see them changing leader given the ERG after months of doing the Hokey Cokey over 48 fucking letters don’t seem able to deliver them when it was actually needed. The stench of desperation coming off Stephen Baker yesterday was palpable. I’d put money on the Tory party formally splitting before they get round to dumping May.

Changing leader doesn't get themselves out of the mess they have got themselves into anyway - if its a Remainer the Leavers won't accept them and vice versa.

Javids record sums up their other dilemma. Whoever gets the job will probably be taking them into the next GE. Austerity is killing the country - Police, NHS, Prisons, transport the lot are squealing they are at crisis point. Childhood poverty, in work poverty even the UN remarking on poverty all news headlines.

You can take the economics out of it - you can take the figures out of things you can even put a disbelief of the UN findings into things but their record added to the Brexit fiasco and their own long term mantra that people don't vote for parties that are split lead you to just one conclusion. This has the look, feel and stench of the last days of the Major government about it - I suspect it matters not what is offered as an alternative anything thats positive above and beyond what they are going to have to defend will look more appealing to the voter - the Tories now have the hollow eyed ravaged look of a crack user waiting for the inevitable end to come and to be honest a lot of it comes across as they don't care just make it soon and make it quick.

As I said yesterday over time JRM has represented the ERG having somewhere between 55 and 80 members yet somehow no 48 letters? The grandstanding press conference saying he was putting his letter in was a desperate attempt to get them in and has kind of backfired on him for now as he did his bit expecting all the drama to come on Friday and instead she survived with the only thing of note happening was a man nobody knows being given the Brexit secretaries job - a job which it was explained now exists in name only !

What strikes me is if you look at Mayday then at her main challengers - Gove, Johnson, JRM - what they all display in these moments of crisis is a spectacular inability to read the runes, make a judgement and do the politically astute thing. That probably says a lot about the present day Tory party and explains why we are where we are.

If your heading into a fight the last thing you need is a beta type calling the shots just because people like them, JRM does know the rules, he knows that mayday is trying to be all things to all people when there is only one thing to do and that is get us out of the EU.
Not a little bit, or even most of the way, the vote was out. That is the starting point and should have been none negotiable from day one, this last two years has been nothing but a delaying tactic to water down or swerve our exit.

I am not interested in what the remainers want, just as they would not have given two f*cks if they had won, but they lost so can do what leave voters would have faced, live with it and get on with your life.

Spoken like a man who hasn’t a clue about what leaving without a deal would be like or doesn’t kkgive two f*cks’.

You are right about their philosophy. Spending cuts were necessary,(wrongly dubbed austerity) but, typically, they fell on the poorest, weakest section of society. Did Tories realise how just many families would be pushed into poverty, or did they just not care? Baffles me...why would anybody, whatever their philosophy, produce a society as seemingly uncaring as we now are?
The bedroom tax sums it up.....move to a smaller house or pay a premium.....ok, where are the smaller social houses?
PS Edit. I'm mad as hell, and I just can't take it any more. Never been so angry at politics. Hungry children, what a disgrace.

No, spoken like a man who knows what no deal would mean for the EU, stop falling for the bull shite and think for yourself.

Just where do the EU sell their goods when we are gone ?, why on earth do you think there are things we can not make ourselves or buy elsewhere in the world (Cheaper for the most part, have a look at the EU tariff loading's to protect their industries).

If they were genuine with wanting a good trading relationship it should have been as simple as agreeing common standards of goods and services, most already in place, but instead they have played politics with a co-operative British political class, who want to keep their EU bolt holes open to ensure a few more years on the public tit when voted out here.

Its to everyone's advantage to have a fair deal, but the EU will never allow one while we continue to play their games with their rules, its nothing but a glorified trade club with delusions of grandeur, the sooner we are out from under the bunch of crooks the better for everyone.

Like I said, spoken like a man who hasn't a clue what he is talking about. Trotting out the same claptrap that the 'newspapers' have been churning out and falling for it. You are correct though try thinking for yourself, if you can.

Then you wont have any trouble answering such a simple little question will you ?. ;0)

Which news outlet are you using to get your information?

That's a genuine question mate.

This country is one of the top 6 nations in the world. Is that because we are in the EU or outside? Don't take to long to work that out.

So you can not answer such a simple question ?.

Yours, despite being no more than a wriggle to avoid answering mine, is easy.

This country, like all member countries, got some benefit from what was a trade zone before it morphed into a political ideology, it also suffered the losses in heavy engineering/ steel production/fishing/agriculture to pander to the protective policies of France/Germany, to try and attribute our position in the world to EU membership is so simplistic as to be borderline retarded.

So, it's not true then? We are not one of the best countries in the world and you call me a idiot?

The vast majority of those occupying the red and green benches in Westminster haven't a clue what a deal would mean, nor have they a clue what a no deal would mean. Never has bluster assuaged so many politicos.
