Westminster voting intentions weekly round up

Lab +4 poll was obviously wrong.

When you have every poll saying tie/slight Con lead, then one saying +4 Lab then it's obviously an outlier.

Yet some of the more fanatical Labour members are building an entire Government based on it.

Survation are considered the most accurate polling of them all as it gathers information from a wide range of sources, so to dismiss it out of hand is a bit churlish.

Not really. You dismiss the outliers to find the consensus. That's just sort of how most polling works to be fair.

Maybe this shows that people who have worked all their lives don’t want someone to come along and tax it off them.

Or the old adage the more older you get the more conservative you become is true.

I do notice the areas in Manchester still red is wards Blackley, Central, whithington and Gorton I think, nice to see Machester staying Labour no matter what ;-)

4 point surge reversed this week with LD grabbing +4 but stil one point in it at present between Con and Lab

Quite surprised by that and seems a much bigger gap than the other polls I have seen which have it pretty much neck and neck.

Both parties seem to be suffering due to the unpopularity of their leaders.

When you have random party members saying lets have a general strike ect it is no surprise. The conference was full of things for the press to pick at.

How many of the folk who are asked what their voting intention is are just lying bastards?
Interesting, but important observation. The election of Major in '92 was symptomatic of the point you make: the polls showed Kinnock heading for power, people happy to say they'd be voting for Labour but, as the X hovered on the ballot paper, the proverbial £ in the proverbial pocket saw that X drawn next to the Conservative's name. People vote primarily on the economy. That's why, currently, Labour are a mere 3 points ahead. Given the utter mess May finds herself in, the opposition should be streets ahead. UKIP back in the game again?

Had people voted for the 'Fuck off, yer big-eared Froggy Git Party' and emphatically delivered L'Epicier a resounding NON, Stan Laurel might have been able to say "This is another fine Euro mess we didn't get into'! Christ knows how many wars yer've got to get into before someone realises that continental Europe is bad news, except for a holiday when yer know the day yer coming back home!

For balance 2 polls this week (yougov at start survation at the end) with not much between each party
