While that has indeed been true of many clubs that move to a new stadium, I'm hopeful that Spurs won't suffer the same fate. Unlike so many other clubs to have moved stadium, Spurs won't be making a move directly from an intimate and atmospheric stadium to a much bigger and blander new model. Spurs will be moving from Wembley - the ultimate in big and bland - to a smaller, more intimate and more characterful stadium. No guarantee that form won't suffer, of course, but there's less reason for it to do so.

I can't remember, what happened to City's form when you first moved to the City of Manchester stadium?

As to your reading of that article, once again I am afraid that you have misunderstood. The completion date to which the article refers wasn't for the roof but for the stadium as a whole. And as to your claim that the roof would have to be complete to the last lick of paint before the stadium could be used, I can only refer back to the myriad stand redevelopments at English stadia over the years. There are many examples of fans being housed in partially completed stands with partially completed roofs.

Yes a stadium with a new stand has housed fans,it happened at the Etihad, but a whole stadium surrounded within a building site I don’t think so

- Umm, mate.........once again, there is a difference between ready for use and complete!

- You were referring to the roof and claiming that Spurs couldn't have received a safety certificate if it was only "substantially complete". I merely pointed you in the direction of numerous other examples in England that contradict your claim.

- The stadium wouldn't have been surrounded by a building site. Temporary surfacing and landscaping of public areas around the stadium would have been in place. The systems delay has allowed Spurs to bring forward the installation of permanent surfacing and landscaping.

Well WE went from an intimate stadium finishing 7th to 11th in the 'best stadium migration in history' shitbowl. We arguably played above ourselves in 2016, whatever that really means.

But I'm sure our bigger better brothers from up the road will do ok...

Seriously though you'll have a f*cking great stadium to do it in. And you'll have effectively moved from Wembley to NWHL rather than WHL

Not worried about West Ham any more or less than any other club that could overtake us. But I won't deny that I dislike West Ham! Primarily because you hate us, I think. That said, I don't mind admitting that West Ham has great potential. Big catchment area to supplement an already good sized, loyal and passionate fan base. Will only take good management from the top down (easier said than done, of course, given your decades of mismanagement). The raw materials are there.

It's a giant shopping mall with a football pitch attached.

For that sort of outlay i'd have expected them to at least produce something of architectural significance.
 
Just seen it on SSN; they allowed some fans into it today. Has to be said, it does look impressive. Their annual spring implosion will take place in swanky surroundings.

I get what you're saying, but I think the design is in keeping with the general style of 21st century architecture. I'm no Spurs fan, but I think it's a magnificent stadium.

It’s on another level. Totally beats anything else in the league. That wall tier? Fair fucks to them, and I can’t really stand Spurs.

The proposals for Chelsea's new ground demonstrated that 21st century architecture doesn't need to be bland.

It should have been a lot better given that it cost half a billion quid to build.

Compare the facade of the Allianz Arena with the facade of Spurs new stadium.

One is a groundbreaking piece of architecture, the other is a giant carbuncle.
