Three quarters new Wembley with different coloured seats.

It should have been a lot better given that it cost half a billion quid to build.

Compare the facade of the Allianz Arena with the facade of Spurs new stadium.

One is a groundbreaking piece of architecture, the other is a giant carbuncle.

Harsh. The Allianz Arena might be bland but I wouldn't say that it is a carbuncle.

Looks a great stadium.

I expect travel to and from the ground to be a pain in the arse for the missus but then I get a longer break/more time on my jack once little un is in bed.

I think it looks good. It’s been built to the modern formula with lots of corporate, a single tier home end - the marketing people clearly have a package for everyone and and it’s designed to suck every last penny out of supporters - you just wonder - will it have any atmosphere?

I'm completely underwhelmed by it.
It's a giant shopping mall with a football pitch attached.
For that sort of outlay i'd have expected them to at least produce something of architectural significance.
At least the shopping bit doesn't obscure the view of the pitch. Unlike another ground you could probably name.

The proposals for Chelsea's new ground demonstrated that 21st century architecture doesn't need to be bland.

Herzog and de Meuron's stadium design for Chelsea is necessitated by the very limited space and serious issues with right to light at Stamford Bridge. That, and the materials used, will likely make it twice as expensive as new WHL - with nothing like the versatility. Only affordable if you have an Abramovich. Alas, Spurs don't have one of those and it's looking quite possible that Chelsea don't have one any more either. Very doubtful now as to whether that design will be built as envisaged, if at all.

Looks absolutely class. The stand behind the goal will be mega when they play Arsenal.

Went to the old WHL not so long ago and will definitely try and get to the new one soon.

... well if they get it open before I die ;-)

I thought Chelsea had abandoned theirs ?

Panto season “oh yes you do” joe Lewis is worth 5billion.

Yes, Joe Lewis is worth a few bob. But he isn't, hasn't ever been, nor ever will be an owner who ploughs huge amounts of his personal fortune into the football club that he owns. That's not his MO. He's not an Abramovich. That's the point.

That's why Spurs couldn't have afforded to build a design such as Herzog & de Meuron's for Chelsea even if they had wanted to.
