Leicester (League Cup) - Post Match Thread.

Yep at least 2 occasions where a simple squared ball would have given us a tap in 2nd goal. I think if either had been Sane or Sterling that's exactly what would have happened

Hi mate, long time no see.

Diaz straight off after his. Aguero has some leeway due to previous record, but if you are a kid doing it, then you are rightly taught the lesson.

At 2 or 3 zero in a game like that, it's probably ok to be greedy, but I thought arrogance was our biggest danger last night. Even on pens we had it.

Do we know if Walker is carrying an injury or not? I've not had time to watch Pep's recent pressers so don't know if subject has come up there. Walker appears to be considerably slower than he was and is still young enough to have kept his top speed...

I think he's just fucked, mentally in particular, but also physically.

Mental breakdown sounds a bit worrying. I just think he is a bit knackered and I am sure Pep wants to rest gim but tonight wasnt the night. He needed him to deal with Gray and overall I thought he did it really well. But he will always make the odd silly pass and he does have a silly defensive moment in him. We really do need a fit Danilo for a month or so. Zin does a lot right in the way Pep wants him to play but a bit like Walker there is that switched off moment which seems to be costing us.

Yep, but imo, after a month off, Walker will be able to defend to the required level wheras Zinchenko can't & he's been trying for some time now.

In Holland, he looked class on the ball (had much more invention than he does now) but he had no stamina & no defensive awareness.

No matter how well we play, there are times when he has to be a proper fullback & teams are just whacking the ball at his area now, expecting to get a chance out of it & they do.

I’ll take that. Not a game to remember but job done and into the semis again. We move on to Saturday and Palace.

Having enjoyed the three most recent Wembley league cup wins I just hope we can win the final again without another shootout, even if our keepers do perform heroics in them.

they say you know your a good team if you can play crap and win ???? well i have a new saying ?? if you can play man city who was only at 10% of its power and still lose your SHIT

man city was there for the taking last night and if we would have lost i don't think anybody would have really cared other than the fans ??? with it being only the league cup and a very hard christmas and bigger cups games and champions league football coming up in the new year i think we could have just wave on leicester city and wished them well in the next round, even after we won the pen shoot out the players and manager did not go bananas and just waved to the fans to thank them for coming

not going to point the finger and moan and dig out anybody and we did win after all and we are still in the cup with a chance of winning more silverware, yes its the league cup and yes nobody gives much credit for winning it, BUT this is manchester city and we was so far from winning the league cup in the past that now i even look forward to the draws just to see city name still in the hat hahahah

Yep, an out and out cheat. Somehow we managed to get the only 2 yellow cards of the match despite making about 3 tackles all game.
Absolute stonewaller on Jesus not given and he didn’t want to use VAR because he knew exactly what he was doing
It wasn't a penalty, the Leicester player played the ball, before bringing jesus down.

Last season, beat Leicester on penalties in the QF. In SF, drew the lowest ranked team, whose name began with a B, after they had knocked out a team whose name began with an M. Chelsea and Arsenal played in the other SF. So, its Burton in the SF followed by Arsenal in the final. The stars are aligned!

Any clips of that online? It looked to me like he takes Jesus around the thigh before he gets the ball, think it may have been just outside the box too.

Doesn't matter if the defender touches the ball first
He has to knock the ball away from the player he is tackling
If the ball remains in playing distance then it is a foul.
So last night the ball remained in playing distance of Jesus so it was a foul

He goes through the player and then just about brushes the ball, nailed on foul anywhere on the pitch.
Mason also chose to ignore Puchs going through the back of Mahrez and later a snidely little elbow on Walker. He’s a shit ref and seems to dislike City.
