Media persecution of Raheem Sterling

I submitted a complaint about undertones of racism to bbc regarding their picture. Its negative reporting singling out a black man instead of a white man even though city won. That right there is undertones of racist bias. Had they had a picture of Fuchs missing his penalty then I have no problem because leicester lost and he was one of the reasons why. City won therefore to have a picture of sterling as the main photo has no bearing on the outcome and only points to what Raz himself has said last week. Nothing changes unless people start fighting back - unfortunately its the same as its always been. Big uproar - all calms down and then it rears its head again and nothing gets done.

You complained about racism to do with this photo??

Walked up to the spot and started mouthing off, was acting the clown on the line as well, Pirlo just let him dive and chipped it down the middle, gave him a contemptuous look and walked back to halfway.
That mouthing off and acting the clown led to Pirlo's decision to chip it down the middle sure, so by that very thing it shows you what a Panenka means when attempted.

I have no problem with any 'keeper giving it out after a Panenka has been missed. They should literally have an incredibly small chance of saving a penalty kick given the distance and average shot power. When players stutter in their run up, pass it at 1mph etc it's bad enough, to lob it in the air takes the piss.

It's the fucking about with attempts like that and even Jesus' stutter that irks me, the fact Sterling missed is secondary; sure Jesus even scored and I was begging he wouldn't pigeon toe it up to the ball.

Just welly the ****ing ball ffs.

Christian Fuchs likes this post.

I really enjoyed Zinchenko blasting the final penalty in, no messing about just power and placement that you'd expect of a pro. No saving that. I know he makes the odd mistake but I've got a bit of time for him.

Come on, lads, Ward needs something to tell his family at Christmas — god knows he hasn’t got much else to offer.

No I complained about the undertones of racial bias. The implications are clear. Not sure why Im bothering replying to you as ive read enough of your posts to realise your head is clearly in the sand regards anything negative against city. Might as well be a closet dipper!

Chipping the keeping is a cocky thing to do, some would say it's a bit of piss taking . You need to be fairly confident of getting it right because it seems like a worse miss if it goes wrong. Sadly for Raheem, he fucked it up. I have no issue with the keeper laughing at him, i'd have been laughing if i was a Leicester fan. Game started well but descended into a fairly turgid affair. OK we won on penalties and made a struggle of going through but the result was as expected. The stand out story and picture was Raheem's miss. No issue with it at all. In my opinion, Raheem should have kept it simple and just slotted it away. Make sure of the result and move on to next game.

"So Danny, how's work been this year?"
"...*mumbles*"
"Speak up dear"
"I sat on the bench for months again and that nasty City knocked us out of the cup so I'm not going to play in that again either!"
"Oh never mind Danny, one of these years the manager will be nice and give you a league game."

It's now become in a way, institutionalized to pick on Sterling as if he's the fat lad in the class. During the penalty shoot out the thumbs up or down clicks on the BBC text page live match reporting generally had between 300 to 800 likes or dislikes whether a penalty was missed or not. For Sterlings' miss, the likes shot up to over a 1600 - why?

Oh and notice the unbiased BBC reporting;
"Well struck and squeezed in under the goalkeeper." - Leicester 1st goal
"Ooh, Danny Ward gets a touch with his left hand but cannot keep the effort out." -Gundogan goal
"Hahaha. A 'Panenka' goes badly wrong, chipped over the bar." - Sterling miss
"Stuttered run-up, struck low and SAVED by Arijanet Muric."
"Stuttered again, falls over but still manages to drill low into the corner." - Jesus

Got to admit I was surprised most of the media ran with a headline about Sterling. Not KDB, Not Zinchenko, not Muric. Have they learnt nothing this week?

The simple answer is no they have learnt FA (for pidge that means fuck all) as far as they are concerned they didn't start the hate Sterling campaign, they are not racist, subconsciously or otherwise. They could have picked any picture, as others have said, one of Zinchenko or Muric celebrating but instead they chose the black lad being made to look stupid. (in their eyes)

It’s not being an ‘argumentative twat’, it’s having the opinion that this picture of sterling is in no way about racism towards him or anything else. You’ve fallen into the trap Darren Lewis was talking about last week. The black man Darren Lewis. If you start linking absolutely everything to racism, it will become impossible to determine what is racism. But as it goes on here, anything that is remotely not 100% behind our players and the club, it’s torn down and rammed back down the throats of those who dare speak up.

Sterling was an idiot to try that penalty and he was made to look as such. The keeper knew it. The camera snapped both of them and hey ho it ends up as the main photo. It would be the same if it was anyone else. Rant over.
