From our inability to go through the middle or produce any useful cut-back passes into box-yard box. They defended for fun and we were not able to produce anything individually.
 
Bad day at the office, we lacked the creativity in midfield without David. Stones isn’t a defensive midfielder, Fernandinho a big miss. Don’t know what to say about Walker, just that he makes too many mistakes. Gundogan too slow and frightened to make a tackle. We will return to form at Leicester
 
Very disappointing performance and result especially after going 1 up. Walker has been a liability for some time now, have to laugh at those smug gits on the 93:20 podcast who have made him out to be 'world class" for ages, Lloyd said anybody who doesn't think he is world class "can do one" a few weeks back....ouch.
A result like that has been coming for weeks if we are honest, sloppy at home to Bournemouth, did our best to hand Watford a point a couple of weeks ago, tried to let Everton salvage a point several times last Saturday and of course were lifeless in the 2nd half at Stamford Bridge as well. Our game management when going ahead in matches has become suspect
Sadly, Stones at DM is not working terribly well and we are conceding too many goals from too few opposition chances, we are getting back to the Bravo-esque situation of 1 shot 1 goal scenario, possibly because Pep has been moving the central defenders around willy nilly the last month or so when Stones and Laporte was previously working really well for so long.
I fear that if we don't win the next 3 games we could be out of the title race before the end of the 1st week in January. Now we have to go to Leicester, who have just won at Chelsea, and then away to a resurgent Southampton so the next 2 games will not be easy either. Right now, I'd take only being 3 points behind Liverpool after the January 3rd meeting as that would give us a decent chance in the 2nd part of the season however the way things are going, we could be 6/7/8 points behind them.
Walker seriously needs taken out of the firing line for a bit and clearly, David Silva's presence in that midfield is sorely missed as well. We paid for not starting KDB, when he came on we suddenly looked like we could salvage something from that game.
Bloody hell, Spurs win at Everton tomorrow they are only 2 points behind us....2 points.
In some ways, a chastening defeat but it might serve to wake us out of the torpor that has been hanging over us for the last month or so.
 
I think there a few take aways from today. The Stones experiment should end now. We need to fix the full back positions. Walker is not good enough, Danilo is a sick note, Mendy is not a great defender and neither Delph or Zinchenko are the answer. Finding a back up for Fernandinho has to be priority number one.

Oh well at least it guarantees a thieving free Christmas for the people of Liverpool,the majority will be so caught up celebrating our loss to palace that they’ll forget all about stealing and robbing ..
 
Only one positive is the return of KDB , he is going to improve our midfield 100% for the title run-in , just a majestic player and it will be like signing the best midfiedler in europe in the January transfer window , Dippers will be feeling quite smug now but our determination to retain the title cannot be underestimated , we have twenty games to make up FOUR points and they have to come to the Etihad soon , the fat lady wont be clearing her throat just yet.
 
Frustrating game. Shoe horning stones in midfield was odd when Gundogan could have played there and allowed Foden in. Lack of clean sheets is biggest worry for me
 
Not very often under Pep the players have had such an off day like that. We've learned a few things today though, We can't just expect to turn up to games and roll teams over...Stones is not a midfielder and won't be for sometime.

Kyle Walker certainly needs to be dropped far too many mistakes the last few months, Time to give Danilo a run in the side.

De Bruyne was outstanding when he came on, Boy oh boy do we need him fit for the next 5 months! Still a long way to go. Come On City.

However, his one downside is that he does not seem to react quickly enough to change situations when he gets something wrong (Liverpool away in CL). I hate Mourinho but the one aspect he has been consistent at is being able to make alterations to his game and change the outlook. I would never want someone else to lead us but Guardiola has to improve at being able to modify the team when something goes to shit.

Mahrez seems a complete waste of a transfer currently? Plus the added kick in the arse was we needed a DM a lot more and never got one! Really hope we go and get one in the January window
 
Christ there's some fanny flapping going on. It's one of those days that happens from time to time. Certainly not the end of the title race like some are making out.

We're missing too many of our big hitters at once and it caught up with us today. Silva, Aguero, Fernandinho and De Bruyne missing from the starting line-up is going to hurt anyone. They are arguably our four most influential players. Advantage Liverpool but there's a long way to go
 
Still waiting for Mahrez to show why we spunked £60 MILL on him should have bought a player to cover Ferdy Writing on wall from the last 2 performances The dippers are not outstanding, but have enough in the tank to get them over the line injuries and continued changes not helping
