Newcastle (a) post match thread

If that goal had stood, the game was won. They took heart from it, we sulked about it and lost heart. That decision and The booking for KDB changed the whole dynamic of the game for me.

Never a yellow, regardless of that if he told him to wait for my whistle it wasn’t a goal either. It changed nowt. We weren’t good enough. Defending a title nowadays is almost impossible hence no one does it anymore regardless of how good you are.

Generally hunger comes from ‘wanting’ not ‘having’ hence why it is a real battle to repeat.

Not an excuse just a general trait of the human race.

Gutted because retaining is the next level.

Title gone. We worked so hard to win against the Dippers and then bottled it. Now I doubt if we can even beat Schalke. We need to win the Champions League when Barca and Real aren’t that good.

The most disappointing (and recurring) thing is that in the last three games we have lost is the lack of reaction, we have limped to the end of the game and not looked like turning things round.

It was pedestrian, and too many off their game.

Never say never but it’s going to take a big turnaround in fortunes.

Shit performance but Leicester are more than capable if an upset tomorrow. Too many on here throwing the towel in.

Pep has all these tactica and plans to break down a parked bus but the one tactic he doesnt use that Liverpool does is have the majoriy of your players in your own let a teama come on to you then when you win it back you have more space!

Worrying thing for me was the look on peps face spent the whole night looking like he didn’t want to be there

e's been tapped up to be ole's assistant next season. deal is done, apparenty.

as for the match, well, well, well... palace, Leicester and now the geordies, complacent, "we're better than you" attitude. Just surprised this manifested itself today after the other two - though that lot put more into this than any other game this season. pet rag at my old work used to say it was twice as bad as every shite team plays out of their skin against you as the champs (or ex-champs.)

Finally we have given the scouse twats "their year"...

it was Newcastle for fuck sake not Barcelona yet they made the Geordie look like Brazil.
There has been some nonsense on this thread but did anybody really think we made Newcastle look like Brazil???
They played like a lower league team holding out for a break and they got them . But play like Brazil??? or do you mean Alan Brazil!!

A lot of terribly entitled soft arsed crystal ball merchants on here tonight.

"Title's gone", "Only 3 trophies to play for now" etc.

Jeepers. I dread to think to think what you were like when we got relegated twice on the bounce - if you were even City fans then.

Entitled? No more like frustrated. If you don’t think winning the league is a tall order now then you’re not a positive blue, you’re just plain stupid

Jermaine Jenas looked absolutely heartbroken which is odd - is he a blue? Does he hate Newcastle for some reason? Blown a wad of cash on a City win?

Ha ha peps interview! lol sums up his performance too. He had no idea about kevs booking and goal! Lol reminds me of basil faulty at times

Never dull being a blue
Well he's not telling the truth is he surely? Just avoiding the question really

Our greatest ever manager reminds you of Basildon Fawley? Yeah ok.

His mannerisms at times do yes. That does not mean I don’t think he’s a god of the game and we are extremely lucky to have him.

Look we all know how far we have come and that nobody has the divine right to win a football match.

Other teams can have blinders, your own players can make mistakes or be off form - that is the nature of the beast.

But what we witnessed tonight was a collective failure by the whole team against a fairly ordinary team and that after going ahead in the first minute, something definitely needs addressing before our next match.
