Away tickets

I was trying to make a (poor) joke of it but you’re right.

But why aren’t some of the more vocal posters on here policing the ticket threads, where there’s people regularly offering tickets, including multiple tickets?

And I can tell you for a fact that there’s some hypocrites posting on here but I’ll say no more on that.
Which threads need policing better and by whom?

Not sure any club would agree to that.
Why would arsenal or us or any team want 6/7000 Geordies at the game.
More away fans reduces the home advantage so be amazed if any team votes in favour of this given it would also possibly reduce match day income given away tickets are currently capped at £30
The figure could be capped at say 3,500 which would be enough for most matches. It wasn't a problem in the 70s and 80s when teams used to take huge allocations creating a fantastic atmosphere. It works well in Germany.

I have tried on several occasions on this thread to get people to agree with me, I think you are the first one ! Before anything else this needs to be scrapped. The revenue the club make cannot be that great that they will risk having Blue on Blue. If you can afford the £50 you would be daft not to be on Platinum as you move away from others, points wise, who are not on it. That is wrong.
No, you’re bang-on. Platinum, was, is, always will be a right load of fucking shite and never mind that it should be scrapped, it should never have come in!

@Tim of the Oak and @come-on-barney, that my friends is how I see the thread. A debate among City fans, the best fans in the land in all the world.

Hopefully there are no hard feelings anywhere from people who have sent this thread to almost 60 pages and everyone realises that we are all individuals and can never see inside another person's mind. We all want what is best for our City, what is best for our supporters.

Good luck to everyone, I am sure that the club and the people on the CM committee are doing their very best for us.
Hopefully the situation can be resolved to everyones satisfaction but somehow i doubt it

No I can’t and I’ve no idea anyway. I assume Kevin Parker is and I am, as I’ve said. All the members are seasoncard holders so is that not a conflict of interest as well?

So let me get this right, if everyone on the City matters group were Supporter club members aswel as having the main honcho Parker too, You're actually trying to say it will have no bearing when talking to City's people about away tickets? I'm fairly fuckin sure creaming away tickets for the OSC's benefit would be last thing to discuss, aswel as altering the allocation to give seasoncard holders more than 60%.

So i'm saying it's fuckin scandalous and a pisstake if that group is dominated by supporter club members.

Remember the comment pages back about the guy in Paris who said Kev Parker sorted him out.

To me, Parker's behavior above all else should be raised at the next meeting.

No but are you talking about the Paris Away game when there were rows of empty seats returned by Sponsors etc. Helping people to use last minute returns to get in the ground is a good idea IMHO.

If you recall that was a collect your ticket game.
I was there with a mate who had no ticket. He asked about returns and Lisa Eaton said they had had a few but couldn’t pass them on.
Even though he had a Supporter number and his passport she wouldn’t let him have a ticket. So one rule for one, another rule for someone else?

So next season, no points will be awarded for away games but points will be awarded for home games when the ticket holder actually attends the game.

I'm a mid points holder (~20K points), who hasn't missed a home game since 1976 and who always goes platinum. So if I'm understanding things correctly this means that I am now stuck at the same place in the pecking order; there's no downside to missing the odd away game now and no incentive to go the extra mile and be there.

Maybe I'll skip Sunderland/Leicester/Swansea midweek League Cup games. Maybe I'll skip one or two other of the less glamorous midweek fixtures and not use all my holidays following City. Maybe a few other diehards will miss the odd away game too. Maybe our away support for the non important games will collapse.

Maybe the club don't give a fuck?

The thing is unless they organise a boat trip etc away sales make no money for the club so your last sentence is probably pretty close to the truth.

Exactly this @GortonBlue62 we now will think about committing to the cup schemes as we don’t no months in advance if we can make these games especially the league cup scheme as there is no benefit at all as all SC holders who want a ticket will get one for any final as proven the last 2 finals .At present we pay for our 3 tickets weather we can make it or not but at least we get the points for being on the scheme and showing our commitment but next season if for whatever reason we can’t make it we won’t get the points ?
Your right maybe the club don’t give a damm ?

So you only go to the aways for the points then? Your incentive should only be that you want to watch City surely.

Whether people go to games or not is their choice. But the "choice" or incentive shouldn't be around whether buying a ticket, whether you use it yourself or not, gives you 40 points so that you don't miss out on the glamorous games.

Spot on, seems like the new system is designed to discriminate against supporters who have to travel for home games, piece of piss if you live next door to the stadium.

Note the 'Maybe's. I'll be there no matter what. I was trying to predict the potential outcome on our away support.

Obviously predicting the future is impossible. If I'd known that you were going to sell out the hard core of our away support I wouldn't have voted for you.

Maybe when fans start binning the cup schemes and the club get lower attendances they will take note but I very much doubt it . The minute they put in place a scheme which penalise fans for non attendance when they have paid and shown there commitment is the minute I come out of the schemes.

I hadn't thought about that but yes, it really will discriminate against supporters who have to travel to midweek cup games in all three competitions.
