Away tickets

what is becoming apparent is that for some reason, corporate/thomas cook fans seem to be exempt from being expected to make any sacrifices, be it at home or domestically, while loyalty point holders are asked to be fair and understanding to any changes. It appears we are all even, but some more than others.

I did think about giving one or two of them a slap when they were easier to identify during the City in the City initiative!

Remember the golden rule - "the man with the gold makes the rules".

I don't think anyone with loads of points would object to a redistribution of tickets to help people with lower points.
The trouble is it seems that the points people are being asked to take the hit whilst Corporate and SC will remain the same and
get their allocations as normal.

On the same premis why do we need the supporters club to have an allocation now
It's not 15 years ago , we don't need them now
It's a good question.

I have said before on here that our current ticketing process has developed from a set of piecemeal initiatives put in place a long time ago when the landscape has changed and maybe renders some of those not fit for purpose in that changed landscape. We should look at the whole thing afresh and decide what's a more suitable and flexible process for where we are now and are likely to be in the foreseeable future.

Personally I'm not against the principle of a group of ordinary fans having access to tickets that their points might not qualify them for. If we stopped the SC allocation and put 500 tickets into a ballot like we're planning to do for the 18-25 year olds, that would do the same job but I think might be more acceptable as it's open to all and less prone to potential abuses. That's just me thinking aloud though and certainly doesn't reflect any discussions we've had in City Matters.

Colin I like it when you think aloud
All I ask is that everything should be looked at and that every group should share the burden of any changes.

I agree that every group should share the burden but hell would need to freeze over before any tickets are removed from the corporate allocation.

A percentage seems fairer, say 10%, as 500 at Old Trafford is 12.5% whereas 500 at Bournemouth is 40%

I still can’t believe corporate get aways, I thought we were better than that. Does explain the away atmosphere getting worse over the last 4 or 5 years.

Why ahould you get credit for games you attended 15 years ago?
Seriously - and I am not trying to be provocative here - although I have not given a lot of thought to it, I could hold the view that there should be no way that the club should not reward those fans that were committed all those years ago - in fact for me give them bonus points.

Where I have a problem is when at away matches I see soooo many fans that I just know do not have the points themselves so the tickets are on someone else 's name. I think that this should be curtailed.

I answered the first point earlier but I agree with you on the second point and that's what we're trying to do but it may take a while and a few iterations of the ideas we've come up with.

All the talk about a ballot for 18-25 year olds. When I was 18-25 there were 3 of us that went. Now imagine we were that age now and what if we all applied and only 1 of us got a ticket would that one go? Maybe, maybe not

Just watching the Newport v Boro replay on BT, Middlesbrough only got 960 tickets and returned 500 of them, if Newport get through how will City work this one if theres only 960 tickets available?

put 150 into 18_25 ballot and the remaining 350 into a general ballot
