Best bit about the result is the winner turning it into a high scoring away winner takes the edge of the second leg. RAWK are furious.. they know we can game manage.. over to you boys :-)
 
Really shocking refereeing tonight and officiating in general and I rarely blame the ref no matter the result but overall including the two penalty decisions the officiating was woeful with clear bias against us.

I don't believe in conspiracy theories but tonight pushed it to the max.
No screen pitchside for VAR yet the shalke bench had ipads and all got up like they had missed a bus when the second pen happened.

What a result to come back away in Europe with 10 men.

Didn't understand that as he said if the VAR wasn't working at pitch side they should go with the refs decision -thought it was VAR that gave the 1st pen?

If the first wasn't a pen then Otamendi shouldn't have had a yellow card and therefore shouldn't have been sent off.

On the first pen he was asked "Was it a pen, Peter?" I was hoping for some explanation based on the rules of the game, but instead it was simply "Yes, because the ref has said so"

Anyone can do that.
