I was at the City v Everton game years back, Danny Mills scored a screamer for 30 yards (Think he went to break legs as he was shooting) But heard a lad behind me saying 'Get in, Your still a f*cking wankstain'.
Now I know who it was!
Wasn’t at that game! Was head over heels in love with my (then girlfriend) future wife around that time and City went off the radar a little. Still went, but not as much. It was when Sven got the job that a torch was reignited in me. My (then fiancé) future wife didn’t know what had hit her; poor thing! She’d definitely advance my fixation with City as a significant reason why the marriage failed. I am such a fucking loser! :-)

Great goal by Mills btw (the fucking wankstain)

Couldn’t agree more. Even in a sea of puke-worthy match day threads that was a bad one. Absolutely corn-cobbed by an awful referee time and time again, and somehow this is the fault of Pep and the players? Fucking embarrassing.
@wattle I had predicted it would make 150 pages by the final whistle...

But it only made 147. :-(

Classic post haha

Totally disagree. His arm is in the most natural position and exactly where you would expect it to be. For reference look at his other arm. It’s mirroring it...!! He also tries to pull it away in the split second he has to react. Nothing more he could do under the circumstances. Never a deliberate hand ball and we would never be given it. See Newport only last week for reference.

You may think that, but that’s not the rule...!! Not your fault the corrupt refs who have given plenty of pens that should never have been given down the years has muddied the waters.
The thing about that one was that you see them given (against us) and not given. You can argue either way.
The ref didn’t give it at ghe time. He wanted to see VAR but it was broken at the side of the pitch so basically the decision was taken away from him.
And yet he gave a yellow card for deliberate hand ball, without seeing the video. The penalty was bad enough. But this yellow ultimately leads to Otter getting sent off later.

The use of VAR was just so bad tonight and I’m all for it’s introduction into the game.

It will never work in football until we hear the conversations and see the video evidence they are watching.

Nobody doubts The honesty of it in rugby. Nobody trusts the powers that be in football to let it work though.

The match day thread - as it always is especially if we are not winning 6-0 - was an utter embarrassment. Full of cry baby mard arses that know NOTHING about football. Ederson should save one out of 2 pens, Walker should never play for City again, Laporte can never play at left back again (too uncomfortable), Fernandiho a cart horse of a centre back, Otta should be sold at the earliest opportunity, Gundagon the worst signing ever, KDB embarrassing and should be taken off for mahrez, Benardo the most one footed player in the world, Merlin past it, Sterling having his worst game this season, Sergio greedy and not a team player. Also, Pep totally lost it taking Sergio off and playing Sterling up front. All direct quotes. What a bunch we have inherited from our success.
Ha Ha
I sacked the match day thread last week.
Couldn't watch it and the game.
We are so so critical

Agree with pretty much everything You said. The yellow was given because the VAR guy tells him it’s a penalty which means it’s deliberate so he has no option to book him. Even though it’s never deliberate in a million years.

I want VAR but tonight was a mess!!

I wouldn’t mind so much if every similar decision was given as handball. But as we all know we only have to go back to the Newport game to know when it’s in our favour, it’s not all of a sudden not given....

Precisely.
They were all offside.

We play a high line. They break early so our defenders react to them gaining a yard. Both the guy fouled and the one nearest Ederson are interfering with play. The rules are crazy if they’re not.
Without pressure on the keeper he just catches that.
Without Ferns man getting ahead of him he doesn’t foul him. Is he supposed to let him go and if Eddie spills the ball he is then onside for the secondary play.

Crazy logic from Walton.

I can try to be objective about the first penalty but the interpretation given for the second is just bullshit.

It’s actually not crazy logic from Walton. That’s how the powers at be want the refs to apply that law. It’s a bizarre way for me. Totally illogical. No wonder the games in the mess it is!!

I have finally decided that playing Silva and Gundogan together in midfield just does not work well...that's it.

I absolutely love the fact that some are still arguing (debating) about the decision's tonight, YET WE STILL WON THE FECKIN' GAME! This is how far we've come lads!!!

THIS FUCKING ALL DAY!

we have just won away from home in with two late goals (one of which was a 35 yard free kick), but lets moan about a shit ref!

Also, how hard is Ederson!

We got a throw in that we shouldn't have gotten against Newport at the weekend and it's debatable whether the ball was still in play for our second goal against Everton in the league cup final in 2015/16.
I thought that City played Liverpool in the 2015-6 League Cup Final?

For now I'm not bothered about VAR. What I am bothered about is that we fought back and won the game. When the third goal went in the cameras panned to our supporters going wild and that jubilant moment epitomised what City means to me. An errect hairs on the back of the neck moment. Regards to all the true blues that were there. You were mint boys and did us proud.

CTID.

Only erect hairs... yes... same with me...
