Brilliant player who for some reason isn’t getting game time. Hopefully it’s the same short term problem we’re having with KdB and Silva

I think he's the sulky type when things don't go his way but that's his nature and he'll be like that when he's 70 years old. Having said that to me, he's the nearest thing to, dare I say it Balotelli, in that I mean he's exciting to watch and can have you at the edge of your seat. When he gets the ball at his feet he lifts the crowd because he's an entertainer. As the previous poster says, wouldn't swap him for anyone and want that new contract signed asap.

Has been unfairly subbed a lot of times this season (Chelsea, Newcastle away) almost to the point where Pep's dropped him out of form because tonight, he was really poor and did deserve to be subbed.

Consistency is his major weakness. World beater one week, toothless the next. If he can fix that he will be undroppable.

He made a some great cuts up the field and then it's like he switched to a lower gear. Well, on his worst day he's still better than Mahrez.

Looks like he's sulking and deliberately showing his indifference, doesn't he? Wonder what's the problem. Hope it's not connected to the contract negotiations.

With the work rate, talent and current form of Bernardo and Sterling, he needs to MASSIVELY up his work rate and general level of give a shit if he wants to play for this team during the run in.

Every game is a Cup Final, and he is living on his reputation for flashes of brilliance at the moment. (Much like Mahrez!)

I fear he will not sign a new deal here, because I think he thinks life would be easier elsewhere. Feels like he is destined for Bayern or Madrid or Barca...for free!

I am beginning to fear the same. Hopefully, he looks at the tea leaf and realize Bernardo will be moving to the Center next season and his only competition will be Mahrez, and even if he loses out to Mahrez, rotation btw the 3 will be necessary and he can get enough PT.

But right now the gulf in performance btw Sterling & Bernado to Sane & Mahrez is huge and he simply isn't at their level right now

When your manager says he wants to smell that fight and hunger to win the league, you play like Bernardo did. You work your fucking arse off. Sane and Mahrez didn't play 120 minutes in the cup final so had no excuses. Bernardo did play 120mins and showed that hunger.

If we are to win the league and players keep up current displays, Bernardo is crucial to us winning it. Sane and Mahrez did nothing to show their manager they want to win the league last night.

I thought he was extremely poor 2nd half and was rightly hooked.
8 minutes was enough for Pep to have had enough, and rightly so!

He does make runs where he doesn’t get the ball, but Sergio does that all game and doesn’t sulk. What infuriates me the most is when he makes a run, then walks back and is offside when he finally does get the ball. As a forward in a previous life, I was embarrassed to be offside, because it is entirely avoidable unless the passer holds onto the ball an inordinate length of time, which is rare in this team.

Body language and muttering as they (Sané and Mahrez) come off is telling, but they need to hear a few home truths from their teammates, not Pep. There are apparently a group of Captains (Vinny, KDB, Silva, Fernandinho) who can clearly see what we can all see. A quiet word is in order.

Thought he was average in the first half, though wasn’t helped by us continually looking for Mahrez, but came out in the second half like a smacked arse.
Don’t know if he’d had a strip torn off him at half time but looked as disinterested as I’ve ever seen a footballer in those few minutes before he was hooked.
