Football Leaks/Der Spiegel articles

City issued a statement on Saturday night saying: 'We will not be providing any comment on out-of-context materials purported to have been hacked or stolen from City Football Group and City personnel and associated people. The attempt to damage the club's reputation is clear.'

This has been the same statement issued before. Nothing has come off it till now.

Any idea what will be happening going forward.
How odd is it that the club realise there is an agenda against us yet many on here dont.

The word 'illegal' is defined in my dictionary as being 'forbidden in law'. Surely, this comes down to whether the commercial entity/business known as UEFA can bring in rules that have legal force. Just my opinion - I don't think they can.

Come on City, lets have this out with UEFA in the courts once and for all.
I understand the use of 'illegal' is not correct in this instance.

If you join a club (UEFA), by joining it you agree to abide by its rules and regulations. Simplified, its like if you join a social club and they impose a 'no hoody' ban on their premises, if you don't comply you can get thrown out although you have done nothing illegal.

Now when it comes to a business worth 100's of millions of pounds, things change. They need to ensure that everything they do is within the law as they are transgressing into such things as employment law, restraint of trade, anti competitive laws etc. This is why I think we will never see us and UEFA in court as their rules contradict these laws

They really are gunning for us aren’t they?
There wasn’t this much effort into Chelsea’s scandal, they did it, they got banned and no one gave a shit.

City might get banned? Better talk about it as much as possible and speculate why and how and what the punishment should be.

The mainstream media are all a bunch of ****s.
TMMAABOC
And RD of the Mail IAFC

Yet another negative story from the daily mail against us.
Getting tiresome this.

Legal reasons apart, perhaps we feel that any statement just allows debate to start.
Since the media have already decided on our guilt we have no way to publicise our side of the allegations so expectations of fairness would be optimistic..

Incidentally, the statement only refers to "no statement" not "no legal action" which obviously includes the media or their so called journos should they step over the line our owner sets.

They’ll fuck us if we’ve fucked up.

If we made an illegal payment of £200k to his agent to get him to us, rather than for scouting, and it’s provable then it’s us that’s done wrong and not the authorities for following up on it.

If we did wrong then we either need to ensure we don’t in future, or not email blatantly about it, or ensure we have better internet security.
Let me get this right.

City have agreed to pay some guy for scouting services to find good young players.

This geezer turns up some player from Watford called Sancho, who is not allowed to have an agent.

This guy thinks, he's good this one, I'll be his agent.

City then accused of paying the agent of an underage player who's not allowed to have an agent.

Well, guilty as charged.
What's the punishment?

Points deductions?
Transfer ban?
Competition ban?

All three?

"The attempt to damage the Club's reputation is organised and clear.' "

If that’s the way round that it happened then we have nothing to worry about then have we.

Well City aren't dictating the agenda are we. We're subject to one smear after another and if the media want to pursue this angle they can, however it gets boring and serves a limited purpose. The vendetta that certain 'journalists' have to towards City is clear and they lose credibility.

How many times can you cry wolf before the man in the street, the non-City fan starts to see this for what it is. What about the other sides? Investigative journalism or targeted smear? News agenda. I think it will slowly run out of steam. For a start you'd hope that the email hack has lost its source so the news-flow from that angle will dry up soon enough?

No chance non city fans will back off. The jealousy and hurt runs deep. Rhe victims are absolutely desperate, they want a points deduction in the prem lol.
The UEFA clubs we've spanked want us out of their comp. They dont care that any triumph in that cup is watered down with the best side not taking part.

We took our pinch and I don’t for one second believe we would ever take a second.

I can only see this ending in a courtroom which is the last thing UEFA would ever want as I’m certain the way football is run as well as other clubs would be exposed for all to see.

Totally agree with that.
