“City Matters” fan committee

Bet the club will be well pleased with the season ticket rep, when he shows how he has driven away some of the clubs most committed fans, i bet they cannot wait to hear all the moans and complaints. Hands up who is looking forward to standing around like a twat in the rain 100's of miles from home, because "OUR REPRESENTATIVE" thinks it's a good idea.

Whens the next election?

Having to go to the ground to show ID to collect your ticket is a joke.

If your at a London away and you’ve got the train down it’s unlikely your going to want to be anywhere near the ground prematch so to have to get to the ground earlier than planned ruins your day out.

Off the top of my head where would the ticket ID checks take place at Goodison, Anfield or the swamp? All grounds are tight, the away ends nearly always result in a crush trying to get in as it is, add to this 100 or so blues queuing to get tickets and it’s carnage.

If these checks come into force, has it yet been answered if Corporate and supporter clubs will also be subjected to these checks?

ID checks is not the correct term, there will be several people (100-200) according to our so-called rep, that will have to collect their ticket, with ID at away games. There now, even the most ardent hater of the people at the head of the loyalty point queue can see how that is a disgraceful inconvenience.

Or a few get checked while in a queue to enter the stadium and it is no real inconvenience at all.

Indeed
You were demanding the right to express an opinion curtailing the rights of others. Ironic
I am on an internet forum where people share ideas and opinions. I am expressing an opinion on what I think would be a good idea.

Anyway I won't be wasting any more time discussing this with you, so you get your last word in. I'm sure it will give you a tingle downstairs.

Whilst not advocating this or even being in favour of the idea I would just like to say don't Corporate get checked anyway going in as they have the lanyards don't they? I know when I was invited to the Chairman's Lounge I had to wear a Lanyard and it was checked as we walked in. Plus Supporters Clubs would get the same checks as the rest of you because we don't all go into the same entrances!!
I travel with a supporters club (I'll leave you to guess which one!!!) and we just go on the coach, get off at the stadium then say ta rah and meet up again later as we disperse to various entrances/turnstiles.

I know there is different levels of corporate but I have had use of tickets from corporates and they are just normal tickets going in the same entrances.

I thought the ID checks were for away games

If the ID checks do happen, they should apply to all categories equally. Just a quick random check of a few as they are queueing to enter the ground would be better as it shouldn't really inconvenience anyone.

Someone mentioned that the rags have the ID checks.
A rag I know was going to buy tickets for their cup game at wolves (turned them down because tout wanted £150 each).
How do touts still sell tickets for the rags if they have ID checks? It's a lot of money to pay out if you might not get in.

The ID check at United is pretty quick. If you look like a Muppet they assume you're a united fan and let you in.

United fans see it as worth the gamble

I'm unsure what's fact, what's guesswork/conjecture here, but if there are no loyalty points for aways from next season, how does that help anyone climb up the ladder ?
