CL QF Draw - City V Spurs ===== SF V Ajax (If we get there)

Guaranteed 2 English clubs drawn together.
UEFA would go into meltdown at the prospect of 4 English clubs in the semi finals.

If history is anything to go by, two of the fixtures will be top ties and two others will be less interesting.

Also, whenever a leak comes out it's normally spot on barring a single change or something similarly small. I reckon if that's the case it'll be either City or Liverpool swapped with Tottenham.

On this business of the authorities not wanting us and United playing our ties at home on the same night, so United having to defer.
I seem to have a very distant memory of us playing an F.A. Cup tie at the same time as the rags were playing theirs (of course, all kick-offs were at 3 p.m., then). The reason why I remember it is going up to the top of the Kippax (don't know why, never stood up at the top) and seeing their floodlights on across the city. That really brought home to me how we are in fact neighbours, like it or not. Must have been in January, because there are winter days in Manchester when the lights need to be on, even at that time (or certainly by half time). I don't think I've invented this memory. It's not the sort of thing you forget. Can anyone help me out on that one? Would have been at the end of the sixties, beginning of the seventies.
Sort of. 1989 we played Chelsea in a promotion head to head at Maine Road and united played an FA Cup Quarter Final at old trafford against Forest, (which fatefully, Forest won) at the same time on the same Saturday afternoon.

Chelsea stamped their authority on the game. They were the better side that season.

Kicked off outside the ground and in town, before and after, as you’d expect.

The odds of it happening are quite low compared to just getting, say, Barca.

Although those odds are now a cert ;)
The odds depend on which order we are drawn.
If we are drawn first , then the odds of us getting Barcelona are 6/1.
The rest are 6/1.
If we're drawn second, Barcelona become 4/1 etc, etc
But the bookies will never give you anywhere near those odds.
