FA Cup Semi Final draw - Brighton

The match day prices for non season ticket holders are an absolute disgrace, the club have seen their arse re the Cardiff returned tickets and have been forced to charge a lot less than normal to sell them perhaps they could reduce tickets across the board and make a serious effort to attract ordinary Mancunians to the matches.
I just been on website against Cardiff some tickets over £50. Against Leicester with co orperate hospitality over at the Academy and a nice seat £360 ,don't think they are arsed about attracting ordinary Manucnians to be honest

You are absolutely spot on about the increase in our national fan base, it has barely changed since the takeover and the success. Contrary to what people say adults do not change their footballing allegiances and we do not have hordes of fans scattered around the country, our out of towners are ever exiled Mancunians or non mancunians who seem to have supported City for years. The club hasn't a clue about our support and the demographics.
I don't think you do. I remember sitting down on the Kippax terrace watching City. Last season City had over 125,000 different supporters in the home end.

I agree the match-day prices are ridiculous but the stadium is full and 80% season-ticketed so even if City wanted to, they couldn't attract ordinary Mancunians to the ground if they wanted to. What are ordinary Mancunians by the way? Look at City's match-going crowd. It's full of very decent, hard-working people. We don't need to change anything about our fan-base. It's sound and the very best thing about this club. Always has been.

Whenever I have a difficult week, or I am feeling bad, just walking up to City and being in the presence of City fans, makes me happy. MCFC always defined who we were. There were times when it really was hard but these are happy times. Make the most of our time at the top.

Look at clubs like Arsenal now. Not doing too bad, but their era is over. Nothing lasts forever so don't pass up moments. I missed the League Cup Final this season and regretted it so even though it's going to be inconvenient I am going to Wembley. Come the day or so before, I'll be buzzing as I will be on match-day walking down Wembley way.

Was that the Blackburn 0-2 in Reidy's last game?, i seem to remember doing the same.

if you take away the season ticket holders that leaves 80,000 bearing in mind at least a third and probably closer to 50% of season ticket holders don't seem to attend CL games then you have the lions share of the 80,000 going to these games. To my eyes on CL a lot of these people filling the gaps of non attending ST holders don't strike me as City fans, many are foreign and just enjoy the chance to watch the CL. There are also certain games in cup competitions when the take up is slow that tickets are given to schools/ clubs etc so the actual number of genuine city fans in the 80,000 i'd argue is considerably lower.

Rang me 3 or 4 times in last 2 weeks, desperate to sell me hospitality(Leicester/Spurs etc etc) ,told him loads of times I'm happy in my own seat and people around me,he can't take the hint,I'm not interested in sitting next to Khaldoun, unless he's paying

Tourism would be a very interesting topic because of course you don't really mean genuine tourists. I like the fact that City are popular. I would also really question whether just because someone is new to City, and they speak with a foreign accent means that they aren't passionate supporters. I know some City fans travel a long way to support City so you should be a bit more generous.

I’m not embarrassed I said it’s embarassing which it is , it’s the semi final of the fa cup !!! If people want to pick and choose why not swerve the league cup final ? What kind of message does it send to the players running out to a half empty end ?? So is everyone going to miss the final cos of the pricing or kick off time ?? No cos they WANT to be there for the glory , my point is everyone knows these fixture are coming up so why not plan ahead it’s the same every year !! My point is we’ve got the fans because we’ve sold out every Wembley trip to date but too many just simply can not be arsed , can not wait for the thread on here people moaning about not getting a ticket for the final if we get there !!

If you think the reason people are giving the semi a miss is cos they can’t be arsed, then you’re either daft or on the wum. City has one of the poorest (in terms of disposable income) fanbases in the country, and the long and the short is that many people cannot afford it at a time when there are so many other competing footballing priorities (Chelsea, Spurs, and potential semis and finals in the Chimps League)

Palace looks like dropping below 10k points, it has reached breaking point for some fans.

No sign of spurs being posted out yet either.

Personally I think it’s embarssing that we have so many tickets remaining , it’s the same every year , everyone knows that there is the potential of semi finals and finals , so why don’t people plan ahead , put money aside , which I don’t think is the real reason because the cheap seats are still a available , people need to get used to the idea that watching football is not free and costs money , judging by the comments on here the spurs at home should be absolutely packed to the rafters as lots are using it as an excuse not to go to a semi final ..... we could only dream of that years ago and who is to say we will make the final , some fans simply can’t be arsed going and I can’t beleave we have genuine fans saying they hope our end is empty !?!?! Are you for real , sorry but don’t get how you can pick and choose , that’s why we support our team isn’t it in the hope of days out at Wembley to win things or else what’s the point ..... too many supporters simply can not be arsed cos it’s Brighton ..the same fans be moaning can’t get a ticket if we get to the final !! Sorry but everyone knows the fa don’t give a shit about us fans so what do people expect ??? If you want to go badly enough you’ll get there !

This will be our fourth trip to Wembley this season, with a high chance of another one next month. We’ve got a big fan base, but some people won’t be able to justify that many trips to Wembley in one season. It’s actually our sixth trip in just over a year, so you can see why some people are choosing not to go.

4 of my mates, season ticket holders, aren’t going because they can’t be arsed. They’re making a day of it in the pub and will undoubtedly spend a shit load of money doing so

I sat down on the Kippax steps a fair few times. Couldn't see a thing. It was because I was so depressed watching, Kinsey, kernaghan or Walsh, all of which I was certain I was better than.

I think it’s hard for regular match going fans to do everything. The biggest disappointment for me is the take up from non ST holders. We must have shifted around 3/4000 tickets to this category and we must have many thousands of fans who have been to games who just can’t be bothered with this for whatever reason despite not having the costs you mention above.
The non sc holders will not get a ticket for the final. If they was guarantee a ticket for the final it be sold out now to many shit sc holders.

Yeah pal I don’t comment on here cos of the crap some people come out with , been going city since Maine rd had season ticket in north stand and still have one now in the south stand, just because I have an opionion you don’t like doesn’t mean I’m a rag in disguise grow up ...I’ll be at Wembley next week and then 3 days later I’ll be at spurs , I know first hand of loads of blues I know who simply said can’t be arsed with this one they’ll go final , so yes mate I am a blue through and through I just have an opinion you don’t like . Arsed

If you’re a City fan then fair enough. I’m not one to go around lobbing accusations around at every poster who posts something that is critical of our fans but 3 posts in 9 and a bit years with 2 of them on this thread citing numbers of tickets sold as embarrassing is bound to get the alarm bells ringing even if you are a genuine fan.

Plenty of my season ticket holding mates aren’t bothering with this game either but some have been following City longer than me so who am I to criticise when they’ve put plenty of hard yards in down the years?

They have cup schemes for guaranteed ticket.
City are fair in their domestic cup home games prices.
Not their fault that the semi finals are held at Wembley.
Season ticket holders deserve cup final tickets more no matter who attends the semi final.
