I don't think I can repeat enough times that I 100% know what it is and I even like the design myself. All I'm saying is that it looks like something else too (and as someone else mentioned there are other associations with it too). From a global marketing perspective I think they will give it a miss. Apparently that makes me a snowflake even though I'm not offended, I'm totally relaxed about the situation and it is actually other people who seem to be bursting a blood vessel over it.

The Iron Cross is from the Tuetonic cross of the order Night Tuetonic, St Marks ued the Maltese cross of the knighte hospitalars, completely different crosses.

St Johns Ambulance use the same too.

True story, I was at the apartheid musuem in Joburg on Tuesday and an angry looking white man with a mullet was admiring the AWB exhibit while wearing a black t-shirt with a huge iron cross and “Malta” written underneath.

One of the key areas for growth of the club's fanbase is the Middle East so however much we might point the club's history there is no way the club is going to sanction a kit with overtly Christian imagery on it - it would be PR suicide out there.

I do think i've seen it come up once before but honestly can't say when or which thread. Probably not worth trawling through to find it though as it wouldn't change the fact I'm in a minority of one or two people that thinks it's similar enough in appearance that I can't see us using it.

To be fair the cross has absolutely nothing to do with the 125th anniversary of Manchester City.

Yeah, it's a photoshop mock-up, you can get templates online that allow you to easily mock up kits

Limited to a run of 6000, team will wear as warm up kit for the rest of the season, can't wear it in a game as kits have to be declared at the start of the season, thank god, it's awful

My kids love it but they are only 9

Id like our kits in future to really keep to our chore colours.

Home : sky blue/white/navy socks

Away/third: maroon or red and black.

Mix it up like the 83 (?) away strip of white black/red pin stripes and the recent away of red/black sash on white.

Maroon with white stripes.

Red and black stripes/checks, whatever.

Just keep it to traditional colours, non of this luminous yellow or orange shite

Create a proper identity

Gorton’s (not St Mark’s, by the way) cross was the Cross Pattee or Formee Pattee.

The Iron Cross and Maltese Cross are both different things.

The Cross Pattee is also used by Vasco do Gama and He Man.

I agree, our colours are fairly routine — how Nike regularly ****ed the kit design is beyond understanding.

Agree except for sky blue socks instead of navy for the home.

Not going to happen though.
